Known issues:

  • FARP crates will not spawn FARP if unloaded on ground. Airdrop unload only (Hotfix coming).
  • MOAB and Crates visually glitch sometimes when leaving cargo bay in multiplayer (Hotfix coming).
  • Vehicles that have been loaded into cargo, then unloaded can not be reloaded into cargo.
  • In game manual does not resize correctly in VR. 
  • Sound for AI C-130J aircraft can in rare situations not be heard 

DCS Core

AI (Ground, Air, Sea)

  • Gun sound for the La Combattante IIa - fixed
  • Crash during embarking to helicopters in some cases - fixed
  • Maneuvering Instantly after weapon release in all cases has been tuned so AI won’t be doing that all the time now
  • Helicopters do not perform vertical takeoff / landing even with the respective landing option turned on - fixed
  • Caucasus. Senaki Airfield. Airplanes couldn't park in parking space 33 - fixed
  • AI wingman having erratic behavior if ordered to attack by himself - fixed
  • When the follow command is set, the AI slows down to stall speed, for no obvious reason - fixed
  • Ai aircraft ignore taxiways and go over water after landing to reach the parking on Kola map in certain cases - fixed

Weapons

  • Implemented scaling of damage dealt to concrete structures depending on penetration depth. Detonations without penetration, as well as over-penetrating ones, will deal reduced damage.
  • Reduced blast wave damage falloff intensity for map objects.
  • Kh-41 anti ship missile. Exhaust trail position fixed.
  • R-27 AA missile. Fixed issue when chaff RCS look excessive from missile point of view.  Fixed bug in target tracking filter that might cause missile miss even against moderately maneuvering target.
  • BLU-109 warhead. Adjusted parameters.
  • RIM-7 Sea Sparrow SAM. Old 3D model of missile replaced by new one with wing unfolding animation
  • R-17 SCUD ballistic missile. Exhaust trail settings updated. Autopilot updated.

User Interface

  • If coalition change lock is activated on a dedicated server there is no warning message when user changing coalitions - fixed.
  • Added tooltip for coalition change block option icon in multiplayer server list screen

Mission Editor

  • GUI error when trying to add task for static in some cases - fixed
  • Occasional GUI freezes upon entering loadout editor - fixed
  • GUI Error in TriggerZoneData.lua when trying to open a track in ME in some cases - fixed
  • Cross 'X' in the warning window "Insufficient depth for the ship" works like Yes (changes are applied) - fixed
  • Added search bar to the Triggers menu text fields with the ability to search by typing in item name
  • Added monospaced font to script editing text fields
  • Trigger “Cargo Unhooked in zone” changed to “Cargo in zone”, added additional conditions for checking coalitions. This trigger will work for cargo unloaded in this zone as well. 

Features

  • Introduced cargo air drop with parachute feature
  • Introduced vehicles transport as cargo and air drop with parachute feature
  • Introduced FARP spawn from cargo feature (can be assigned as cargo advanced action, looking for your feedback for more FARP presets)
  • Dynamic cargo items now add each item weight into the resulting cargo (note: there is still minimum cargo asset weight at start and minimum weight is dictated by it, although if you put in amount of items that are more than this minimum weight it will then reflect weight overall weight of the items instead of minimal weight of cargo “crate” itself).

Avionics

  • Cockpit ADF logic changed to less frequent calculations to improve performance

    • ‘External Cargo Load' makes HAI hook up cargo as it was in old task, but after hooking, HAI will continue its route set by the missionmaker so that it is the missionmaker’s responsibility to now limit altitudes and airspeed for such cargo delivery.
    • ‘External Cargo Unload' is an advanced waypoint action with trigger or script. It will make HAI fly towards the cargo drop zone and unhook cargo there (if HAI have any) after calling the task.
    • Some tuning was added to HAI control when it carries external cargo that includes yaw velocity and max AoB limitations when cargo weight is more than 10% of helicopter gross weight. Known issue: Currently the HELMET COOP mode usage sequence has a bug if RADAR state was OFF, before mode was activated. As a workaround to correctly Lock a target using the radar as the supporting sensor in Сooperative mode (COOP), the radar must be on (ILLUM-DUMMY-OFF switch must be in the DUMMY position) BEFORE activating the IRST modes (IR, CC, HELMET, OPT). For this mode you need to also switch IRST modes using the CW CCW switch movement and not use the keys 3, 4, 5, or 6. Activating IRST modes using the keys does not ensure target lock by the radar as an additional channel in Сooperative mode. We plan to correct that for the next update.

Weapons

  • Introduced advanced model for R-27 missile family. Missiles got new CFD-based flight model, authentic control system that includes wing actuator model, altitude band-switching autopilot, Kalman-type guidance filters (different for IR and RF versions) which also drive seeker gimbal mechanics, INS and datalink system with realistic inaccuracies (for RF missile only), and RF or IR seeker. New semiactive RF seeker provides 'multitarget' tracking feature. This means that RF signals from several distinct targets will interfere and form one bigger apparent target once they simultaneously fall into the missile tracking gate. This apparent target may lead the missile between real targets in a target group, or to dispensed chaff. It also may steal missile velocity tracking gate and break guidance. R-27 proximity fuze now has a conical antennas pattern and variable explosion command delay to adjust for target size and closure rate. And, in addition, missiles got number of limitations caused by control systems design. For example RF missile can not be launched with roll angle exceeding 120 degrees because of gimbaled INS roll limit.

    • The detection range now depends on radar peak power not its own detection range, older radars will be detected from further away purely because they use higher peak power to compensate for bad processing and low PRF (and it's the peak power that matters for this device not the average, average power matters for the radar, not the RWR).
    • Directivity patterns now are simulated, so the FOV of each sector changes with signal power and thus range - at low signal power there are deadzones at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, at high signal power you will have like 3 sectors lit by the same signal
    • At high signal power level, particularly against slow-scanning radars you will see the effect of side lobes passing over (either multiple pings, or visible gradual increase and then drop in power level as evidenced by additional sectors lighting up and dropping while the sector closest to source stays lit)
    • Radar scan period is now replicated
    • SPO-10 will reject any radar with PRF below 780
    • Radars with PRF below 8000 will have their detection range drop with the increase of PRF
    • CW radars (Hawk) will not be detected
