The “Formation of a Departure” is Mission 1.0 from my “Serpent’s Head Campaign” also available free from these user files.

The Serpent’s Head is a six-mission F/A 18C Campaign. It starts in Nevada and ends in the Caucasus region, so both maps are required. (There is also a five-mission version just in the Caucasus map area)
The campaign is story line based and follows the progress of “Ford” (yourself) and his involvement in a new conflict in the Caucasus Region. As in 2008 this is once again in the beleaguered area of Ossetia and Gori.
This conflict is gathering pace at an alarming rate such that the West have sent in a multinational force to the Black Sea in the form of some ground forces but primarily a naval fleet with the USS John C Stennis at its heart.
We join “Ford”, in this mission, during his last flight over Nevada, before his unit leaves at first light in the morning for the Black Sea and the Stennis.

The Serpents Head is a six mission F18C Campaign. It starts in Nevada and ends in the Caucasus region, so both maps are required. (I have issued a version just in the Caucasus Map area for those of you without the Nevada Map). Welcome to Operation Telephone Pole - an Iron Hand / SEAD mission for the Community A-4E-C Skyhawk.

A strike package of two VMA-311 A-4E Skyhawks ("CAT flight") is tasked to bomb a bridge in the north to cut the vital supply routes of the Ho Chi Gurk trail. An RF-8 recce Crusader shot photos of two Gurkcong SA-2 Guideline SAM units in the area. Your mission is to fly ahead of the strikers and silence the SA-2s.

Mission contains a dozen custom voiceovers, and custom kneeboard.

British Royal Armoured Corp 1st Battalion are the closest NATO asset stationed at Mestia on the Russian border.  Intelligence has confirmed that an advanced Russian armoured and infantry battalion (4th Guards Tank Regiment and 881st Air Assault Infantry) are forming up around the village of Trnyauz.  You are to command the British asset from the air.  This is the first time that NATO is going to order a pre-emptive strike on Russian soil.  We must prevent them at all costs entering Georgia and gaining a foothold.  NATO command has ordered the attack to commence at 06:30hrs on 15th July 2019.  US and European assets are being dispatched, however you must be self-sufficient for now.<br />

Attack Squadron 204 (VA-204) was established at NAS Memphis, Tennessee on 1 July 1970, flying the A-4C Skyhawk as part of a reorganization intended to increase the combat readiness of the Naval Air Reserve Force. The squadron was assigned to Carrier Air Wing Reserve 20 (CVWR-20). Shortly after transitioning to the A-4E Skyhawk in 1971, the squadron deployed for two weeks with CVWR-20 embarked on the USS John F. Kennedy, a Naval Reserve first.<br />
<br />
VA-204 won back to back CVWR-20 Bombing Derbies in 1971 and 1972. In May 1972, the squadron participated in exercise Exotic Dancer V, designed to test multiservice operations under a unified command organization. VA-204 received the CNO annual Safety Award for 1973, in recognition of over 5,000 hours of accident free flying for the year. In 1975, the squadron won the F. Trubee Davison Award as the "Best Tailhook Squadron in the Naval Reserve"

Now that ED introduced a livery selection option for ships, it's time to make one for the Stennis. This is a slightly higher quality texture set for CVN-74. <br />

The notable changes are:

Deck color slightly changed to match real-life pictures.
Ramp white line increased in size + added details.
Jet blast deflectors texture improvements.
Improved runway textures.

How to install:

Copy the folder into Saved games\DCS\Liveries\stennis (Just like any other livery. If the folder 'stennis' does not exist, create it).
