You are part of a detachment of OV-10s supporting Task Force Blackbeard out of Olf Orote Field. Blackbeard is tasked with combating piracy in the South Pacific.

You are part of an OV-10 detachment (VMO-5 Det 1) operating at Forward Operating Base Oscar (FOB) in support of U.S. Navy SEALs/CIA in Syria. A CIA officer has requested urgent air support. This has been approved by Central Command & POTUS.

A quick Assault Carrier (USS Tarawa LHA-1) based mission for the free OV-10A Bronco mod by Split Air.
Task:  Recon & eliminate terrorist camp/weapons and any chemical tanks or materials you spot.

The first wave of Cobras have taken out all the high-speed gunboats providing some protection to the submarine. What's left of them are limping their way back to base now. Unfortunately, the enemy submarine appears to have restored power and is making a run for deeper water. Her tender ship is lagging behind. Be aware that the Cobra squadron reported that not one but two small missile frigates have arrived and are providing cover until the sub can escape. We cannot let her get away!

This is a rare opportunity to deal the enemy a crippling blow to their navy. Therefore, we're scrambling ALL available assets in the region. If it can carry munitions; it's on it's way. Multiple squadrons of F-4Es, A-4Es, and F-86Fs are inbound. There is NO ETA for them to arrive as some are a good distance away and it's gonna take some time for them to arrive in the AOR.

An enemy submarine was spotted off the coast about an hour ago. It appears to have run aground while gathering intelligence during the night and has become semi-disabled. She's running on the surface at reduced speed with a supply ship attending her. Be aware that a small missile frigate was reported heading toward the submarines coordinates at high speed and may already be at that location. A screen of high-speed gunboats have taken up positions around the submarine to provide some protection until the missile frigate arrives.

This is a rare opportunity to deal the enemy a crippling blow to their navy. Therefore, we're scrambling every asset we have in the area. Two flights of F-4Es should be in the area first to attack the frigate and submarine. A flight of Cobras are inbound to do what they can with the gunboats. There is also a flight of F-86s inbound. But they are a good distance away and it's gonna take some time for them to arrive.

The PRIZE is the submarine. Go get her!

This is a Gunboat intercept mission - plain and simple. High-speed gunboats have been harassing shipping traffic in the area and possibly collecting intelligence on naval and aircraft movements. Your task is to go out and see what they are up to. If during your observations, you are fired upon? Then you are authorized to blow them out of the water.... ;-)

In 2008, due to maintenance and budget restrictions, the Dragons would trade their remaining F-14s to VMF-78, and would instead fly the F/A-18 Hornet, redesignated as VMFA-24.

With their more advanced Hornets, the Dragons have continued their mission of supporting Osean Marine operations, with their first trial by fire during the Circum-Pacific War, providing critical Close Air Support during marine landings in southern Yuktobania during Operation Footprint.

Following their actions, they would make various deployments until making a combat deployment to Usea in support of the 2019 Lighthouse War between Osea and Erusea.

The Flying Wardens of VMFA-304 have had an exceptionally colorful history, flying everything from the F4F Hellcat and AD Skyraider to the RA-5C Vigilante and the F-35D Lightning II. Between their stints with the Skyraider and Vigilante they operated the A-4 Skyhawk, providing close air support to Osean and Aurelian forces against communist insurgents in the latter country's northern jungles. VMA-304 notably was the squadron with the only Marine Corps ace of the war not to fly the F-4 Phantom or F-8 Crusader, with Capt. Luis Avery shooting down two enemy aircraft with an A-1 and four with his Skyhawk. After three tours in the Aurelian Sea the squadron would be redesignated to RVMAH-304, becoming the sole Marine Corps squadron to operate the RA-5C and one of three equipped with any form of the Vigilante (along with VMAH-63 and VMAH-174 flying the A-5B non-nuclear variant) and would later operate the A-6E Intruder as VMA(AW)-304 and the F/A-18D Night Attack and F-35D as VMFA-304

Established in 1975, VMF-78, along with their sister squadron VMF-24, were an experiment within the largely overlooked Osean Marine Corps aviation branch. Taking the then state-of-the-art fighters, the Marines would learn to use them as close-air-support fighter-bombers. First with standard iron bombs during counter insurgency operations in Adama during the 1977 uprising; And then later using Laser-guided munitions with their LANTRIN upgrade before the Belkan war. With their precision weapons, the Marines would launch multiple raids against hardened Belkan positions on the western front, helping eventually push the Belkans into a full retreat.


Today the pilots of VMF-78 await for their next mission at MCAS McClusky on Osea’s west coast, on an ever vigilant watch for any enemies who may come.

Emboldened by the Maritime Defense Force’s early successes with the F-14, it was only a matter of time for the air arm of the Osean Marine Corps to purchase their own Tomcats.The first Marine aviators would be sent to the RAG in mid 1974, while purchase agreements were finalized between the Marines and vendors.

The first squadron of Tomcats that would be stood up by the Marines would be. VMF-24, otherwise known as the “Dragons”. With the first half dozen of pilots arriving back from VF-228 in late 1975, the squadron would not reach IOC until 1977, a full year after their sister squadron on the west coast VMF-78 “Dapper Dressed Killers”. The Dragons would see an early deployment in May of 1978, to Southern Osea, helping to deter Leasath aggression from Osean trade reaching the country's long-time rival of Aurelia.

The Dragons would deploy various times in the 1980s and 1990s, and would participate in the Belkan War, providing air support to landing operations during the conflict.
