AIR WARFARE GROUP - This is our first Air Racing Challenge mission using the Free TF-51D Mustang in DCS. It takes place on Normandy 2.0 and you'll need to own that map.
Welcome to our first AWG Racing Challenge Mission. We'll see how this goes and perhaps we may build other courses on various maps. This is 1.0 BETA Release and will be revised so stay tuned to the channel for updates to the mission file.
Since this is an Open Beta release, please put bug findings and recommendations in the comments. You can open this mission and change (Not Add) each individual aircraft to any fixed-wing airplane in DCS if you want. The TF-51D was used because it is the one WWII era aircraft that comes free with DCS.
This mission is the work of @GaltAWG who did a great job building each aircraft link to the trigger zones. He gets the main credit for this racing mission. A special thanks to Cabi~ for the original concept, defining the course layout, and scoring penalty parameters.
The first cones you pass "YOU ARE CLEARED TO ENTER THE COURSE" is to ensure you are at racing altitude and can safely enter the course.
At the next set of cones prior to the start, the horn sounds at these cones to alert the racer that he/she is entering the course. This resets all triggers and flags from the previous racer
The cannon sounds crossing under the tower bridge. If you do not get the cannon sound, you will not get a score at the end of the course.
COURSE RESTRICTIONS:
Up to for pilots can be airborne, but only one player through the time-trial course at a time. If a player has started a run and a different player flies through the cones with the HORN, it resets All Triggers and Flags and the current racer in the course will not get a valid score. This is not a head-to-head race, but instead a time trial challenge against the clock and other racer's times. Airborne racers awaiting their turn can orbit over the course above 500 feet to watch. There are 4 additional spectator slots.
