Multiplayer ready to fly or template mission of the opening air strike, 17 Jan 1991, when Operation Desert Shield became Operation Desert Storm. Fly as Task Force Normandy, the group of 8 AH-64's that followed Pavelow's into Iraq to eliminate an early warning radar site and open the corridor for coalition aircraft; or fly as a SEAD package as an F-15C, F15E, or F-16 to suppress H3 airfields air defenses for the ATO of F-18's during the day campaign. Perhaps even choose to fly F-18's or F-14's off the supercarrier to suppress a SAM site north of H3 to open the way for SCUD hunting. F-14's set and ready to deploy decoys, just as A-6's did in real life. Be prepared to air tank and spend hours to make 1 pass make the difference of history as we know, or failure as a whole.

DCS Operation Desert Storm, first night operations trailer. This mission will be available in the DCS downloads/user files area. The mission is designed to be a template which can be built upon, or left alone and ready to play, alone or with friends. The mission uses real world time, weather, and sorties for ultimate realism.
This mission has Task Force Normandy, the AH-64 strike to open the air campaign corridor, and the first shots to hit in the real campaign. It also contains an attack on the H3 airport. SCUD launchers are also in place, as well as a multitude of Iraqi SAM sights and possible fighter aircraft.

Fly the aircraft with the loadout and objective they were meant for, or design your own campaign change and go after SCUD sites, the options are up to you.
The mission has no end triggers, and is designed to act more as a template over a complete mission. Assess your battle damage and see how effective your strike would have been.
The mission is designed to be close to real life, therefore it is FULLY designed to be really long, with only minutes of action. If you want to experience what it might have been like on Jan 17, 91 this is for you. If you want straight into the action, this might not be it.
