The Getti Tonanti was an Italian aerobatic team, founded in 1953, within the 5th Stormo of Villafranca di Verona The 4 pilots of the Republic F-84G Thunderjet invented many acrobatic figures; they also contributed to the film "I quattro del Getto Tonante" (Thunderjet Four), inspired by the aircraft's official US designation - Thunderjet. Before the film, the patrol was known by the name "Guizzo", derived from the radio call given to the aircraft of the 103rd Group of the 5th Stormo (the "flash" of a flash is in fact drawn on the fuel tanks placed on the wingtips). After the film, the patrol assumed the name of "Getti Tonanti".
