This is a simple F/A 18 ACLS case III landing mission.
It is really designed to help beginner get lined up properly to get your needles on track and keep them there.
it only has two ships...they both have active Tacan
Carrier Theodre Rooselte has Active Tacan Ils Link 4a ready to use
Tarawa..which also has active Tacan turned on for this misssion
Tarawa is in
ACTUAL PLANE GUARD POSITION
which means he is not there for crash guard
he is their to guide planes onto the CENTERLINE of the carrier
WHICH MEANS HE IS AT SPECIFIC LOCATION
the way real navy ships do it
angle deck on carriers is 13 degrees off of BRC or Base course NOT 15 DEGREES NOT 10 DREGREES 13 DEGREES EXACTLY
plane guard duties assign ship 13 degrees exactly the oppisite of the 180 of the base course
NOT T it would be like aO WORRY

execting battle plans for ships is what i did
do this is what i did for a living
so the plane guard ship Tarawa (usually a FF or DD) tacan problem with those so we use Tarawa.
He is set 13 degrees off base course opposite on centerline 3 N/M ONLY you fly over him you land on the Roosevelt
cant miss him
you fly over Tarawa and land on the carrier Thats it! Thats the plan
Tarawa will help you line up You can use Tarawa Tacan to better hellp you line up on centerline
If You use Roosevelt Tacan and you follow it all the way in
YOU WILL RUN INTO THE SUPERSTRUCTURE ON THE ROOSEVELT BECAUSE THE TACAN IS ON TOP OF THE SUPERSTRUCTURE
NOT LANDING CENTERLINE ILS SYSTEM AND LSO IS LINED UP ON CENTERLINE
and with some luck
BE ABLE TO AT LEAST SEE acls ANDD iLS ACTUALLY WORK
keep in mind
you have to have you plane in flying land auto throttle (ATC) configuration to actually use ACLS
this mission will help you learn
HAVE FUN WITH IT AND KEEP TRYING
you will pick things up and learn
you are lined up from the start 40 miles fly over the Tarawa land on the carrier the way real carrier pilots actually do it.
