Channel map. WW II.  - Representation of Operation Jericho, 18th February, 1944.  - Low level bombing of Amiens Prison.

A representation of Operation Jericho, 18th February, 1944, created in anticipation of the release of the Mosquito. The Channel map now includes Amiens, and the road connecting it with Albert, allowing a realistic navigation of the last few minutes of the low level bombing of Amiens Prison. I have cobbled the prison together with bits & pieces from the Static Objects list.  In absence of the (long overdue) Mosquito, I have used  a P-47 armed with 2 x 250 lb. bombs.  Since these are released at under 100 ft, they will destroy your plane unless detonation is delayed.  As DCS does not model this for WW 2 bombs, it is achieved by releasing the bombs UNARMED, with a flag triggering the explosions after a few seconds delay. Just release the bombs using the P-47's "Jettison hardpoints" function.  If you hit one of the triggered parts of the prison wall, you will see it demolished after the delay. All these points are marked by a nearby parked Blitz Wagon.

For those unfamiliar with Op. Jericho, 1944, I suggest that you research it on the web. It is an exciting iconic real life Mozzie operation aimed at liberating imprisoned members of the French Resistance about to be executed by the Germans.
