Spitfire Mk IXc (BS403) coded UZ-K of No 306 (Polish) Sqn. It was flown by S/Ldr Kazmierz Rutkowski, the squadron's CO and one of Polish aces. He shot down two FW190s on 21st January and on 15th February 1943, while at the controls of this aircraft. The squadron operated Mk IXs from October 1942 to March 1943.
