The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African-American military aviators in the United States Armed Forces.
My recreation of the paint job of the Tuskegee Airmen's P-51C Mustang "by ReQuest" Civilian Air Force restoration for flight simulator DCS World's P-51D module. The actual P-51C Mustang plane made a belly landing in Dallas in February 2016. The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African-American military aviators in the United States Armed Forces. During World War II, black Americans in many U.S. states were still subject to Jim Crow laws.
