The DCS: World War II Assets Pack provides numerous World War II air, land and sea assets to populate the Normandy and other DCS World maps with. Eagle Dynamics has spent several years creating an entirely new set of combat vehicles to support DCS: World War II, and each unit is created with an exceptional level of detail and accuracy.
These objects are needed to play some missions and campaigns, and can also be used to create your missions through the editor built into DCS World.

Some of the first American airmen to join the air war over Europe were the volunteers of the RAF’s Eagle Squadrons. In 1942 they were transferred to the Mighty Eighth Air Force under the 4th Fighter Group, based in Debden, Essex. The 4th was the first fighter group to penetrate German airspace, the first to escort bombers over Berlin, and led the first shuttle mission from England to Russia. Under the indomitable leadership of Colonel Don Blakeslee, they became the highest scoring unit of the USAAF, destroying 1,016 enemy aircraft in the air and on the ground.

Some of the thrilling sorties flown by Mosquito units in World War II belong to movie screens rather than history books. The ’wooden wonder’ flew in an astonishing variety of roles, and some of them were truly stranger than fiction. ’V for Victory’ will take you through most of these different sorties: Night intruder, ranger, oboe pathfinder, noball, photo recce, Joan Eleanor - just to mention a few. During the winter of 1942-43, the air battle raging in the skies over Europe was at its fiercest. The Focke Wulfs and Messerschmitts flown by the Luftwaffe’s ’experten’ proved to be more than a worthy foe for the RAF’s new Spitfire Mk.IX-s. The air supremacy of the Allies was still just a distant dream. In the thickest of this battle stood the Biggin Hill Wing with 611 (West Lancashire) and 340 (Ile de France) Squadrons. As a result of thorough research in the national archives, squadron records and combat reports, Reflected Simulations managed to recreate 14 of these sorties down to the smallest details. 'Zemke's Wolfpack', the 56th Fighter Group was one of the most famous fighting units of the USAAF in World War II. Flying the P-47 Thunderbolt throughout their time stationed in England, the Group had more ace pilots and destroyed more enemy aircraft in air combat than any other. The F-15E, developed in the mid 1980's, is a dual-role fighter designed to perform air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. An array of avionics and electronics systems give the F-15E the capability to fight at low or high altitude, day or night, and in all weather. The F-15E is the USAF's premier strike fighter still in use today.

The F-4 Phantom II is an American two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather, long- range supersonic jet interceptor and fighter-bomber originally developed by McDonnell Aircraft for the United States Navy. After entering service with the Navy in 1961, it became adopted by the United States Marine Corps and United States Air Force. Due to its high adaptability, versatility and for its time, unparalleled capabilities, it quickly turned into the main workhorse for all 3 branches and spread beyond the borders of the United States, going on to serve and protect 12 nations across the world, with Phantoms still in operation today. Its production ran from 1958 to 1981, and with nigh 5200 Phantoms built, it became the most produced supersonic US military aircraft in the history, solidifying its place as one of the most recognizable and well known aircraft of the cold war era.

The F-5E was developed in the early 1970s as a light tactical fighter. It is an upgraded version of the earlier F-5A. Combat roles of the F-5E include both air-to-air and unguided ground attack. In the United States, it has excelled as an aggressor. Given its mission flexibility, ease of operation, and low cost, the F-5E continues to serve air forces including Iran, Switzerland, and others.
The F-5Е is armed with two 20 mm М39-А3 cannons, each with 280 rounds. The cannons are in the nose section and include deflectors that direct hot gas away from the engine inlets. Each cannon has a firing rate of 1,500 to 1,700 rounds per minute.
Wingtips incorporates a launcher rail capable of firing AIM-9 infrared-guided missiles.
