After Egypt nationalized he Suez Canal (and took it out of French and British control), the French, British and Israelis invaded Sinai. Israel had been blockaded from shipping to and from Asian ports and its primary goal was to end Egyptian control of the Straits of Tiran (see maps). Although most aircraft on both sides were first generation jets, Israel still used the prop-driven Mosquitos and P-51s as its ground attack aircraft. The first Mosquito attack against a major target was the 31 October 1956 attack on Al Arish, the Egyptian governmental and military headquarters in the Sinai. You are the attack leader.

On 26 June 1943, Squadron Leader Charles Moran took one of the new Mosquito FB VIs on a night intruder mission to Avord airfield where he found the runway fully lighted and German bombers circling. He then flew home via Mantes where he found a German freight train.

Charlie Scherf ended his Mosquito Intruder career with the 418 RCAF Squadron with a flourish. After this mission he was rotated home to Australia where he served as an instructor.

An excellent Scherf "Cousin Jake" skin is available here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3329762/

An filmed interview from the Australian War Memorial of Scherf, his wingman Howie Cleveland (who would command the 18 at the end of the war and who also was Scherf's wingman on this mission) following a earlier mission is here: https://www.awm.gov.au/collection/F01446

An extensive update of a mission I posted previously: Traded unrealistic bombs for actual rockets, used the new weather features to provide the actual snow storm. Excellent Banff Mossie skins are now available at User Files: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328061/ and https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328060/

A raid in bad weather to sink a German ship carrying a huge cargo of coke, an essential material used in the manufacture of steel. The raid was led by Wing Commander Jean Maurice Guedj, a French pilot on his 150th combat mission of the war.

The Banff Strike Wing was unaware that two squadrons of FW-190A8s had very recently been moved to a Luftwaffe airfield close to Leirvik. The RAF did not earmark any Mosquitos for high cover and they had no escort. The FWs responded to the RAF raid and the result was the second largest air battle of the war over Norway.

A major rewrite of a mission I posted previously.

On 30 March 1945, the Banff Strike Wing raided Porsgrunn Harbor in Norway, a primary port for sending German troops back to Germany to fight against the approaching Allied armies. Three ships were sunk and a fourth damaged in what was rated one of the unit's most spectacular shipping strikes.

Excellent Banff Mossie skins are available at User Files: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328061/ and https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328060/

Updates: Historically correct armament: rockets. In previous version AI Mossies would not fire rocket so I substituted bombs. Now the rockets work properly (Thanks for the fix, ED!!!). And, with multicore, many more aircraft are supported. Also more historically correct ship and aircraft formations. And, correct Banff skins are now available at User Files (Thanks JP Gabobo!): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328061/ and https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328060/

On 7 March 1945, the Banff Strike Wing flew its longest mission to date to the Oslo Fjord to attack a formation of German landing craft carrying tanks and heavy artillery. The vessels were moving the weapons from Norway to Germany to help defend against the approaching Allied armies.

Requires South Atlantic map, which also has been recently updated and is even more stunning.

In the early hours of the last day of the Yom Kippur War, the Israeli high command ordered an IDF armored division to seize Port Suez, a major city on the southern terminus of The Suez canal. The division attacked at dawn  with three brigades, none of which had an experience or training in joint operations in urban warfare. The Egyptians had been planning their defense of the city for about six months. By afternoon, the IDF was retreating and A-4Es were called in to help cover them.

As it became clear the United Nations would soon impose a cease fire in the Yom Kippur War, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Dayan decided the Observation Post atop Mount Hermon should be in Israel's control when the peacekeeping force arrived. The Israeli OP was lost on the first day of the war when it was overrun by Syrian commandos. The Golani Brigade was given the mission and it attacked with infantry climbing the mountain on the right flank, an armored column in the center an armored reconnaissance vehicles on the left flank. On the eve of the attack, four A-4Es from Ramat David Air Force Base attempted to clear out Syrian ambush sites on the road up to the OP.

When three IDF armored divisions crossed the Suez Canal, the ground forces also knocked the SAM sites in the area. This allowed the IAF, for the first time in the Sinai campaign, to conduct Close Air Support missions without worries about SAMs. A-4Es flew in front of Israeli tanks pushing west from the canal. They found dug-in Egyptian armor fortifications.

The Soviet-provided SAMs were making it very dangerous for the IAF to provide Close Air Support to IDF armored units about to attack west across the Suez Canal. Al Qantara, a city that straddled the canal was a major site of Egyptian SAM units. A-4Es were sent in to destroy them.
