OPERATION SILVER THRUST

All over Iran a sentiment of revolution and change have brought the country into chaos after the goverment attacked several popular manifestations with the brutal force of the Guard units launching rockets and bombs with aircraft and artillery; even a firefight against a regular army postition that joined the population caused docens of wounded. After all the innocent deaths, and the indiscriminate bombing; army, airforce, and navy of Iran, have sublebated and joined the effort to make a diplomatic progress towards the destitution of the goverment.

The F/A-18C is a spectacular machine, I just bought it after years of thinking to buy it. The capabilities it carries are just something else. Meanwhile I learn how to employ it´s smart weapons in a manner I start feeling confident. A little mission like this is more than welcomed to learn the matters of the Hornet in a low level pop-up attack with iron bombs, and it is quite fun too.

The Mirage F1 is an amazing little aircraft, although for now, it lacks the capabilities to use smart weapons by itself; it doesn´t mean that we can have loads of fun in the old ways of iron bombing with drag chutes, flying low level over ridges to reach and off the target as fast as possible trying to hide from SAM systems and any possible interceptor.

This mission is simple and complex at the same time. The environment makes it difficult to some extent. I hope it works well and you have fun with it. Every constructive critique or idea will be welcome. I´m thinking about making this a campaign in this days of quarantine so you don´t get bored in your houses, but I don´t have any more ideas for the next mission. However if you want the same mission with other aircraft I can try and do it if you request it and is possible for me. Good luck and have fun.

Iran is trying to gain control of the Persian Gulf setting several naval bases on the islands all around the gulf. With this action the naval trade routes are suffering several attacks by the helicopters and speed boats launched from this naval bases. Most of the countries that trade with the UAE have set escorts to their ships or even giving them military personal to defend against the attacks. In this ambient, seems that a civilian ship with U.S.A flag, have suffered some kind of critical damage on Its engines, so the capitain has decided to beach the ship in an island close to one of this naval bases.
