3 Regt AAC - Soest/Bad Sassendorf - W.Germany.
After release of the Cold War Germany map - it was apparent there weren't any 'small unit' locations detailed. My meager offering is the peacetime location of 3 Regt AAC, BAOR, Soest airfield.
This is 100% work in progress - so any comments, criticism's, suggestions etc will be received in the intent they are given. This has been a massive learning curve - and still is as I learn the nuances of 3d modelling (many thanks to @farebro and shout out to 'Smudger' for his work at- https://baor-locations.org/3-regiment-army-air-corps/ who helped massively with photos)! Still working on lighting, and staircases (for ATC) plus a myriad of other improvements - but for now gives a rough replication of the location.
Unzip the '3Regt' file and place the Soest folder in the Saved Games/Mods/tech folder, and place the mission files in Saved Games/DCS/Missions. 2 Mission files - Soest1 Nav with player flyable AH64 on the dispersal and SoestBlank - so requires configuring with a flyable aircraft. Open either mission in ME if you want to configure aircraft/positions etc. Both missions have a Gazelle starting up and doing circuits around the airfield. There is also a hidden FARP to allow refuelling/rearming.
The mission places the airfield in the 'correct-ish' location - if I do put it at the correct co-ords there is a road running directly through the dispersal so moved it over a couple of fields.
