Our F/A-18C is the culmination of more than 40 man years of intense research, technology development, art creation, and ground-breaking coding. The F/A-18C brings the first, true, multi-role fighter to the skies of DCS World with equally impressive air-to-surface and air-to-air capabilities.
DCS: F/A-18C is initially being released as Early Access, with several features to be added during the Early Access period. This includes several sensors, weapons, and sub-systems.
About the DCS: F/A-18C
The F/A-18C is twin engine, supersonic fighter that is flown by a single pilot in a "glass cockpit". It combines extreme maneuverability , a deadly arsenal of weapons, and the ability to operate from an aircraft carrier. Operated by several nations, this multi-role fighter has been instrumental in conflicts from 1986 to today.
The F/A-18C is equipped with a large suite of sensors that includes a radar, targeting pod, and a helmet mounted sight. In addition to its internal 20mm cannon, the F/A-18C can be armed with a large assortment of unguided bombs and rockets, laser and GPS-guided bombs, air-to-surface missiles of all sorts, and both radar and infrared-guided air-to-air missiles. This results in amazing gameplay potential with this single aircraft.
The F/A-18C is also known for its extreme, slow-speed maneuverability in a dogfight. We have gone to great lengths to model the flight aerodynamics and fly-by-wire flight control system of the aircraft to allow you to experience the real feeling of power and extreme capabilities this aircraft has to offer. Although incredibly deadly, the F/A-18C is also a very easy aircraft to fly.
Being an aircraft carrier capable aircraft, our F/A-18C also comes with a free aircraft carrier. Catapult from the "boat", strike a large assortment of targets that only DCS World can offer, then "call the ball" and land on the carrier. In the fall of 2015, the battles of the Syrian Civil War between the rebels and the Syrian government forces continue intensely. The involvement of several foreign powers, ISIS, and Hezbollah in the conflicts further escalates tensions. The tension among major superpowers is also on the rise. However, civilians suffer the most. Millions have been forced to leave their destroyed homes. Civilian targets are constantly under bombardment. The USS Theodore Roosevelt, with its Strike Group, is on its way to the region with the aim of establishing a no-fly zone over the western parts of Syria to prevent attacks on civilians.

This campaign is based on fictitious events and follows on from "Ford" and "Matrix's" exploits in the Straits of Hormuz on board the USS Abraham Lincoln in the "Rise of the Persian Lion II" Campaign. Although operations commence in Cyprus, much to "Fords" surprise, events will soon reach out to Turkey, Syria, Israel, and Jordan, testing both your flying accuracy and strike capabilities in the F/A-18C Hornet.
Even though the story line continues from the last campaign, "Operation Green Line" can be fully enjoyed as a standalone.

It is June 2005. Situation at Persian Gulf has been stable for some years. For the last month there has been rising tension from new direction while Iran has launched multiple naval and air force exercises at southern coast of the country. Iran has made political and diplomatic provocations against other Gulf States, mostly United Arab Emirates, accusing them about production of nuclear and chemical weapons and repeated attacks against Iran commercial shipping. Maybe most worrying was statement of Iran defense minister speaking in Iran television last week telling United Arab Emirates being governed by national socialist leaders threatening security of Iran citizens living in Emirates.

As staccato shafts of burning light flashed by the canopy, Lieutenant Scott Rivers, call sign 'Ford', squeezed the release button. He felt the expected "kick in the pants" as the Hornet surged when a ton of self-guiding ordinance dropped away intent on finding its mark. Below, seconds later, there was a massive shock wave as the area where the I.R.G.C. meeting was being held, exploded into ‘Hell on earth’ lighting up the entire City.
As the two Hornets disappeared into the dark Bandar Abbas night, chased by the flailing neon arms of the triple A they both new they had just changed the face of the conflict. For once things were going their way. With the Iranian IRGC command including 'Asad' now gone and the USS Truman relief fleet just a day away, 'Matrix' could taste that well deserved R&R. What could possibly go wrong?

The F-4 Phantom II is an American two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather, long- range supersonic jet interceptor and fighter-bomber originally developed by McDonnell Aircraft for the United States Navy. After entering service with the Navy in 1961, it became adopted by the United States Marine Corps and United States Air Force. Due to its high adaptability, versatility and for its time, unparalleled capabilities, it quickly turned into the main workhorse for all 3 branches and spread beyond the borders of the United States, going on to serve and protect 12 nations across the world, with Phantoms still in operation today. Its production ran from 1958 to 1981, and with nigh 5200 Phantoms built, it became the most produced supersonic US military aircraft in the history, solidifying its place as one of the most recognizable and well known aircraft of the cold war era.

The General Dynamics F-16C ‘Viper’ is a high-performance, single-seat multirole combat aircraft that excels not only as an air superiority fighter, but also in the ground attack, precision bombing, SEAD and reconnaissance roles.
For air-to-air combat the F-16C is armed with AIM-9L/M/P/X Sidewinder missiles, AIM-120B/C AMRAAMs and an internal, six-barrel, M61A-1 20mm Gatling Gun firing 4-6,000 rounds per minute. An advanced airframe and fly-by-wire system mean the Viper can pull 9g, while the F110-GE-129 engine powers it to a maximum speed of more than Mach 2.
