CE2 - Prop Carrier Ops at Home

In short, I'm using the CE2 as a stand-in for the N3N Yellow Bird and the Tarawa as a stand-in for the Essex.  Remember that the Tarawa is actually a bit smaller than the Essex, and the CE2 has vastly better performance than the N3N.  Despite that, I think it should be a solid 'get a feel around a boat' sort of experience for those who want to get it in early.

Had some guys go throw some flags and tires around Rota International and draw the rough shape of an Essex class CV.  Included are a farp for the bridge.

The goals pretty simple, get your non-carrier based ww2 fighter off the 'deck.'  There's even a 20 knot headwind (on the deck, maybe closer to 30 on the airfield) to give you a bit of oomph off the ground.  Beware that will go up to 40 knots with a little altitude.  This is really just for practicing takeoffs.

Is it perfect? No, but it might hold over your curiosity for a few hours while we sit here waiting for the Corsair, which, once out, I will modify the airfield to be a closer stand-in for the ship so people can practice ground based training where I plan on using Christen Eagle IIs as stand-ins for N3Ns.

F/A-18C

Are you a bad enough dude to drive your stolen F/A-18C Hornet that totally fell off the back of a transport vehicle fully loaded with gas and already started to all of the airports in Nevada?

Only one way to find out.

The goal is simple, you have to hit every single way point, and visit every single major airfield marked on the map.  Feel free to use the f10 map.  The kicker is that it's pre gps, so you may need to do INS alignments over time.

Don't worry too much about driving off the road, unlike actual desert bus I won't hold that against you.  The off road capabilities of your Marine Corp hornet are much higher than a passenger bus, but if you get stuck you have to start over from the... well.  Start.  Though, by all means, feel free to impose more rules on yourself.  Switch over to an I-16.  Or do all of it in a taxi-ing Mi-8 for all I care.  Just remember, you can't come off the ground.

Remember, you'll have to take your tanks off and put them back on to refill them.
