This livery depicts a Belgian Air Force C-130H Hercules, Registration: CH-13, c/n 382-4047 which featured a striking paint scheme in 2013 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of C-130 operations with the 20th Squadron and the 65th anniversary of the 15th Wing. The forward fuselage features an overall black background with a portrait of a Native American Chief in full headdress with the starboard vertical fin dedicated to marking 40 years of the Hercules transport aircraft in Belgian service and the port side of the fin commemorated the 65th anniversary of the 15th Air Transport Wing.
Features:
Engine exhaust re-done from default to more closely replicate exhaust staining which includes flaps, flap wells and trailing edges.
Belgian Pilot flight suit.
Yes, I know the DCS module is the "J" model which is longer and has 6 bladed composite propellers but I love this paint scheme.

This is a skinpack of Luftwaffe F-4E Phantom IIs in Norm 81B Camouflage made for my friends in virtual squadron JaboG35. It consists of 8 separate aircraft with each having it's unique side number. 4 of the skins have red, blue or yellow tail / dorsal markings. The aircrew's flight suits are period correct orange as are the gloves in dirty white.

This is a skin pack compiled for use by the "Iron Curtain Virtual Aviators" lead by 526th Blade who provided much of the research, editing and advise. Thank you sir. The four aircraft presented, 68-0467, 68-0526, 69-0244 and 69-0260 are depicted as they were at Ramstein Air Base circa 1983 and are rendered as close as possible to historical photographs.

A series of five Dornier UH-1D of the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) HTG64 (Helicopter Transport Wing 64 - German: Hubschraubertransportgeschwader 64) which was established at Penzing Air Base in Bavaria on 1 October 1966. From February 1968 until May 1969 the introduction of the Dornier (Bell) UH-1D took place, replacing all other aircraft previously flown by Helicopter Transport Wing 64. The wing provided Transport, Training, Test and SAR functions throughout it's existence. Following a re-organisation of the German Armed Forces, Helicopter Transport Wing 64 was officially disbanded on 1 April 1994. By then the wing had flown more than 500,00 hours on the Bell UH-1D, transporting more than 450,000 persons and 5,800 cargo. During SAR missions about 120,000 casualties were rescued.

This is the best I can do with selectable Bort numbers for post unification MiG-21. The numbers have to be this large due to the kerning (horizontal spacing) of the Bort numbers being fixed. I can make the font smaller but they would be spaced too far apart and would look strange. Even though they're slightly larger than historical, I think they look pretty good. There are three skins in this series but the combined skins zip file is too large to post in User Files so I am posting them seperately. There is one each in all green camo, tan and green camo and silver paint.

The registration numbers are 22+xx or 24+xx depending on which skin is selected. the "xx" represents the selectable BORT numbers. To select your desired bort number type "00xx" in the tail number window in the skin selection window. So if you want "22+41" on the nose, type in "0041" as your tail number.

When making liveries that used different language placards / stencils, I discovered that the default roughmets had the Russian placards in the green channel so that they showed up as reflective "ghost" images. I made default roughmets with the placards removed in the green channel. Nothing else was altered from the default roughmets.

REVISED Nov 21, 2024

Submission to DCS Mi-24P skin contest November 2024.
This is a Livery depicting a German Democratic Republic (GDR) Mi-24P, No. 361, C/N: 340-332 of Kampfhubschraubergeschwader 5 (KHG-5) circa 1989.

In December 1989, 12 Mi‑24P were delivered. This made the GDR the last member state of the Warsaw Pact to receive Mi‑24s with modern 9M114 anti-tank guided missiles. The GDR was the only operator of Mi‑24Ps outside the Soviet Union in the Warsaw Pact.

C/N: 340-332 was delivered 30Dec1989 to Basepohl helicopter base 140 kilometer north of Berlin.

Post unification it was re-marked as Luftwaffe 96+42 and served Oct 1990 thru Sep 1994.

Then transferred to the Hungarian Air Force, storage at Szentkirályszabadja May 1995 then Szolnok. Dec2017-Jan2019. Overhauled by 419th Aircraft Repair Plant (419 ARZ), a subsidiary of Rostec`s Russian Helicopters holding and changed Reg No. to 331 at 86th "Szolnok" Helicopter Base, Hungary.

UPDATE 10/2/24. Removed the args in the description lua that had removed the inner pylons so that it's user choice. Those pylons were not installed while it was in the Tiger livery and will look a bit weird if you install them but... your choice.

This is a depiction of Phantom II, QF-4E-60-MC, S/N:74-1638 of the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2012. The aircraft has a very glossy "wet look" paint job, probably something similar to Imron paint. I've wanted to do a shiny and relatively un-weathered skin and this seemed to be a suitable subject. In the photographs, Lt. Col. Lance “Blade” Wilkins, commander of the 82nd Aerial Targets Squadron commander at Tyndall Air Force Base FL, is named on the canopy rail. I made this livery to match, as close as possible, the photographs from that event. The only deviation is that I put the international orange on the horizontal stabilizers as it had during it's life as a USAF target drone.

A fictional depiction of an F-4E in East German colors. The Aircrew's uniforms and helmets have been modified as East German as well. The Pilot's handle roughly translates to my last name in English and the the backseater... check in Google translate. I used MagicaThunder's "Homemade Paintkit" which can be found here: digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3338228/. Thank you Sir! I also used bits and bobs from the HB default skins.

An A-20G-35-DO Ser. No. 43-10067, White 51 of the commander of the 51st Mine and Torpedo Aviation Regiment of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet, Ivan Feofanovich Orlenko, at Kolberg airfield, Germany, April-July 1945. It appears that the upper four 50 caliber guns were removed and windows added to allow for a bombardier for more accuracy in torpedo delivery. Of course, that's not an option in game so it's left without the nose glazing.

A generic 51st MTAP skin is included with BORT numbers enabled. This skin is named "USSR 51st Mine and Torpedo Regiment".

Douglas A-20G Boston, A28-52 DU-C of No 22 Sqn., RAAF This A-20G was delivered in June 1944 and served with the Squadron until it was badly damaged at Morotai on 22 November 1944.
It was subsequently written off and reduced to spares. Note the larger diameter fuselage roundel proportions.
This A-20G was possibly painted in the field with the original Olive Drab being painted over with RAAF Foliage Green whilst still retaining its Neutral Gray undersides.

A-20G Havoc ser. no.43-9521 nicknamednamed "LITTLE CHIEF" of the 321st BS, 90th BG "Jolly Rogers", New Guinea. Nicknamed "Little Chief" with the nose art of a woman wearing a leather jacket with a 90th Bomb Group patch, her legs resting on boxes stenciled "Gin Cairns" and her head on a parachute with "521" below her arm. This A-20 was used as a "fat cat" for flight from New Guinea to Australia for fresh food and alcohol, essentially a beer run hack.
Why Little Chief?
The B 24 in the same bomber group, was Big Chief.

I have included a generic version without the Little Chief nose art. Not historically correct since the Jolly Rogers were pretty much a B-24 squadron but who doesn't like a shiny, bare aluminum aircraft.

A-20G-25-DO ser. no. 43-9224, nicknamed "Miss Laid" (later changed to "La France Libre"), CodeF6-E of the 670th BS, 416th BG and depicted as after D-day when the upper surfaces invasion stripes were overpainted.

Miss Laid was renamed to be more politically correct when taken for ceremony to Paris to honor the accomplishment. Note that the old nose art is still faintly visible through the olive drab. This aircraft was first in the ETO to complete one-hundred missions. Never once during these one-hundred missions was the plane forced to return because of mechanical failure. The original engines that powered "Miss Laid" on the first mission on 3 March 1944 against an enemy held airdrome at Poix, France were still in use on the 100th mission.

Included are two generic skins with Bort letters enabled. One with full invasion stripes and one with the upper surfaces invasion stripes overpainted.

Douglas A-20G Havoc “Little Joe”, bureau number 43-21475 from the 389th Bomber Squadron, 312th Bombardment Group United States Army Air Force,1945.US A-20Gs were used on low-level sorties in the New Guinea theatre.

An A-20G 43-22200 , bureau number is displayed at the USAF Museum painted in the markings of "Little Joe". This aircraft is in much too clean a state however. I would imagine that the original "Little Joe" would show much more wear and this skin is representational of that. I also altered the normal map to represent what appears to be black rubber (leather) coaming around the gun turret.

*UPDATE* 26 Sep, 23:
Moved underwing Star and Bar rondelle to correct position on Right wing.
Added a generic skin with Bort letter enabled (I kept the skull over the guns since several other planes used it in the Pacific theater. Skin title:

The plane completed 27 combat missions with the 709th Bombardment Squadron of the 447th Bombardment Group at this point and would be renamed "Bit O' Lace" for the remainder of it's combat missions which totaled 83 by the end of the war in Europe.

Please Note: This skin will work with the default JSON file included in the game but to see the skin at it's best, use the improved Metallic look MOD by Warlord64 available here :  https://forum.dcs.world/topic/319116-specular-reflectivity-from-brushed-to-mirror-effect/#comment-5

Speculars are used but I will change to roughmets if the developers decide to upgrade the B-17 to PBR. The detailed skin depicts Serial number 42-38050, a B-17G-25-DL,  code: BN U, nicknamed "Thunderbird". The plane flew 112 combat missions with the 359th Bombardment Squadron of the 303rd Bombardment Group. She reputedly was crewed by 538 different airmen, none of whom suffered an injury aboard Thunderbird. Returned to the United States after the war, she was sent to Kingman Army Airfield, Arizona, where she was scrapped. This plane is the subject of a large mural in the World War II Gallery of the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., entitled "Fortresses Under Fire", completed 1975–1976. by Keith Ferris and depicts Thunderbird on her 70th mission to Wiesbaden.

This is a submission for the B-17G Livery Competition. This includes two skins depicting S/Ns 44-83851 No. '23' and 44-83811 No. 21. Although these are beyond the dates specified in the competition, I thought that they may be useful for missions on the new Sinai map. The history and color schemes noted on the web vary quite a bit. Original photos of what I assume to be the delivery flight show them as being very heavily worn. Some accounts say that they were subsequently re-painted and I have decided to depict them freshly painted as shown on the accompanying profile picture. I did not include 'plain' versions since they both have only the small '21' and '23' individual distinguishing markings. Speculars are used but I will change to roughmets if the developers decide to upgrade the B-17 to PBR.

Fw 190A-4 of Maj. H. von Bonin, CO of JG 54, Pskov, Soviet Union, Spring 1943.Lots of additional weathering including mud splashes on undersurfaces (many of the airfields in Russia were basically dirt strips. Add the rains of April 1943 and I'm pretty sure they would be mud splattered). Tires and landing gear also mudded (and the Continental tire markings made more apparent. Revised paint chipping with more of a bare aluminum look. Some bootprints and blurry handprints.

The camouflaged version with Bort letters enabled of Flight Lieutenant A Torrance of 'A' Flight, No. 27 Squadron, RAF Mosquito at Parashuram, India, for a sortie over Burma, March 30, 1944. With the kind assistance of "Busdriver" from the IL2 Sturmovik forum and "Helles Belle" from the DCS forum, it was determined that No. 27 Squadron didn't use any letter codes on their aircraft. Special thanks to "Raptorattacker", IL2 skinner supreme for his fuel spill image which I have used and modified. Added numerous weathering "eye candy" including muddy landing gear and ground crew handprints.

This is a generic version of silver (aluminum) doped Mossies which served in the China / Burma / India (CBI) theatre.

Problems were found with glue adhesion in the humidity, but it was actually the tropical heat that was the more immediate problem; the Australians did some experiments and found that painting the Mosquito silver reduced the heat inside the wings by a significant amount (appx. by 15 degrees during the daytime).

That’s why many photos appear to show metal Mosquitos. They were simply wooden wonders that had been painted silver.

Registration (Bort) letters are selectable. Pilots have white cotton coveralls.

PoUX in 1945 in Cholavarum close to Madras in India. It wears SEAC two-tone blue markings over an all painted aluminium finish. No. 82 Squadron RAF had Squadron code "UX". The squadron left Bomber Command and relocated to RAF Cholavarum, India in early 1942. The squadron was re-equipped with Mosquitoes in July 1944, but was temporarily grounded due to failures in the wooden structure before commencing ground attack sorties on 19 December. These operations continued until 12 May 1945, when the squadron was withdrawn to India to prepare for the proposed invasion of Malaya. This operation did not occur due to the end of the war, and the squadron was disbanded on 15 March 1946. Problems were found with glue adhesion in the humidity, but it was actually the tropical heat that was the more immediate problem; the Australians did some experiments and found that painting the Mosquito silver reduced the heat inside the wings by a significant amount (appx. by 15 degrees during the daytime).

East German MiG-21PFM No. 738 of the NVA and 22+25 of the German AF
after re-unification, Serial #: 94A4301. It is now on display on a pylon at the
Technik Museum Speyer, Germany and painted (as C993) in the (strangely fanciful)
colors  of the "Red Archers" display team of the Indian Air Force. Why the pink color instead of red which is what the "Red Archers" used and the incorrect colors of the roundel's and fin flash, I have no answer. I decided to keep the colors as they are on the museum's display aircraft.
