The loud ECS (air conditioning) is realistic, but the F14 tends to be louder than other aircraft so this can be uncomfortable when using comms.

To prevent needing to adjust the volume every time I switch aircraft, I've reduced the volume of just the ECS (and my other mod adjusts the ICS sound effects too).

It's a subtle effect, but more enjoyable for me.

I have been using VoiceAttack in combination with VR for several years now and I can not imagine flying DCS without that!
I like to fly two-seaters much as I enjoy cooperation between crews, but it is not always easy to find an appropriate RIO.
So at some point of time I started to boost the immersion by adding some commands to VoiceAttack to communicate with Jester and bring even more realism to the game.
And because I was asked again and again if I could share the profile with people I decided to put it here for the community to use.

Sadly I have been unable to completely eliminate the annoying solid blocker that comes up sometimes. While this eliminated most FORGE elements that will will still sometimes come up. This seems to be the best that can be done until Heatblur ever gets around to adding options to select what ones show up as that said they would do at some point.

Found the new FORGE elements to just be annoying and with no option to disable it I worked out a way to do it. Thought I would share in case anyone else was annoyed with it as well. I hope this will be made obsolete with an official option for the same function. The new adjustable mirrors still work it is only the FORGE elements that are affected.

I made it OvGME compliant for easy install and uninstall.

Note for those who use multiplayer: This is not IC compliant.
EDIT: New version using textures only to try to overcome IC issue.

INSTALL: To main game folder, NOT saved games (use JSGME/similar so you can reverse changes)
Don't forget to backup first.

VOLUME GREATLY REDUCED ON:
-ICS sound effects (jester menu sound on and off) was way too loud. Not affected by ICS volume

TOTALLY REMOVED:
-Callouts of locking friendlies that are based on aircraft type (always incorrect when flying F14 on red)
-Calling out fast on runway (when Jester falsely thinks its a taxiway)
-Bolter callouts and sink rate callouts (only allow comments AFTER landings)
-AAR comments

NEW VERSION 0.4 from 2024 Jan 24:
-More sink rate callouts removed
-Removed "friendly is down" calls in case of misclassification based on aircraft ype
-Removed "dirt" callouts, distracting with a lot of search radars
-Comments re CO Busting Balls

This mod provides markings to the left and right side of the pilot's HSD, and the 10 and 2 o'clock of the RIO's TID with a guide to vector lengths.
In the manual, 1,800 knots is indicated as 1.5 inches in the actual aircraft. Since one is in flight simulator, it's less intuitive to measure that, so I made these so you can cross reference and be able to roughly eyeball the vector of a contact.
This mod goes into your core folder, so a mod manager is highly recommended. Additionally, it is likely with each upd ate that the files will be overwritten, so it is best to uninstall and reinstall the mod before and after the update respectively.
I have created a small text file in the download that should give a little more information on installation.

NOTE: I have now updated the mod such that it now has night lighting. The old version of the mod did not have alpha channel se t correctly, nor provision for night flying. See screenshots for new version! Additional fixes due to exporting.

This mod adds many of the F-14 Rio controls to the front seat, so you can have more control over the Jester RIO. Helpful additions include being able to map and use the HCU, full and half action, next launch, MLC Filter, and countermeasures.

EDIT: New version was updated for 2.9.4 and is now OVGME compatible.

If installing manually: To add RIO controls to the front seat of the tomcat, unzip and place the downloaded folder (F-14B - Pilot) to your Root Directory, (default is C Drive)ā€¦.DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F14\Input and replace the F-14B - Pilot folder.

I've been bothered with not being able to tell if the master caution and left fire or right fire lights were illuminated or not, because either way they were too whitewashed to tell.
So I jumped into the textures and tweaked it a bit.  Simple as that.

UPDATED 2/13/2023: There was an issue where during low light, the panel would have excessive glow.  This has been fixed.

This (OVGME) mod just replaces all of the Star Wars comments and one overtly sexual reference into more encouraging and less annoying soundbytes.

The Star Wars comments were funny once or twice, but after many hours in the aircraft, they're just tired and annoying. This fixes that.

Aquila's ED Hornet AIM-7M for the HB F-14B

As in DCS 2.5.5.38140 Open Beta and DCS 2.5.5.35461 stable, the AIM-7M for the F-14B is faulty, behaving very poorly compared to the same missile on other planes.

The issue is known by Heatblur, as discussed here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=253004

This mod gives the F-14B the same AIM-7M as the F/A-18C and other planes in DCS using this missile.
The only modification I made was removing the LOFT function, which is not relevant in the Tomcat.

Two ways of installing the mod:

- With JSGME (recommended): the usual way.
- Manually: go to your \CoreMods\aircraft\F14\Entry folder, save a backup of the Weapons.lua and replace the original file with the one in the present archive.

Rework of the labels of the Cockpit for better reading specially in VR.
Update: Added Several Warning Lights.
Added the Front Pilot Landing/Takeoff Checklist, and Buttons on Rio Radar panel.
Fixed Integrity Check error on multiplayer servers. Instructions inside how to install the textures (thanks to Capix from E69 and Crazy from La FundaciĆ³n)

(update: fixed fake mirrors texture)

Update 2021: Added F14A and corrected CAP arrow low illumination. Corrected CAP NUMBER button.

Update 2023 March. Fixed new moving mirrors.
