Fictional Huey's ( AB 214SP in real life ) of the RNLAF 303 Search and Resque Squadron.
The RNLAF AB-412SP is in service since the beginning of 1994, they replaced the Alouette III’s. The 303 Sqn for Search and Resque is stationed at Leeuwarden Airbase. Their primairy task is to resque fighterpilots who have bailed out their jet over the NorthSea. They are also used to transport people, in medical need from ships and from the islands in the ‘waddenzee’ area on the northern part of The Netherlands, to hospitals on the main land. The 303 SAR Squadron has three AB 412SP helicopters in service which fly around 150 emergency ( or resque ) missions each year. Because of the yellow color, the relative of the Huey is tender nicknamed “Tweety”! At the end of 2014 the AB 214SP’s are scheduled to be taken out of service and relieved by the Royal Navy NH-90 helicopters.
