This is the first in a series of Spitfire missions set in Malta in 1942. They are (mostly) historically accurate based on books and Operations Records.
Johnny Plagis was one of the first RAF 15 pilots who flew Spitfires from an aircraft carrier onto Malta to relieve the battered Hurricanes that had been defending the island from constant bomber attacks. Plagis already had a German bomber kill when, on 1 April 1942, he flew four sorties and scored four kills to make him the first Malta Spitfire ace. The story is being told in four Missions.
