Due to his experience as a former airline pilot he was trained to fly transport aircraft after enlisting , eventually going on to serve as a pilot in the 32nd ATW.
On 06.01.95 during Operation Cannibal his aircraft was shot down over Hoffnung by Ustio fighters while attempting to flee the combat area resulting in deaths of him and his entire crew. After the war his body was laid to rest in his home town.

Air Almaty and 'Sky Georgia' liveries for the IL-76

after the Brezhnev...let's call it "incident" (see https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3302704/), there hasn't been any progress in the diplomatic negotiations between the USSR and the Georgian government.

UN has approved resolution #500/1 concerning the situation and the entire Georgian area has been deemed as a No Fly Zone to prevent further escalation.

We are in a very fortunate position since we were already in Turkey flying DACT with our F-16s and F-5 Aggressors against two Georgian provided Mig-21bis directly from their factory in Tbilisi.

Recent oil prospect operations have discovered an undersea deposit.
This finding has quickly triggered  a dispute for the rights of that deposit between Turkey and the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
Diplomacy did not produce any agreement on the rights and tension continued to escalate.
During the past weeks there have been suspicious incidents in Batumi oil refineries, where oil from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan is refined.
Turkey government has denied any involvement. The Adjara investigators claim otherwise.

Last week two private prospector ships have been sunk by turkish armed boats claiming territorial waters violation. Diplomatic relations between Turkey and Georgia have been interrupted and both parts recalled their ambassadors.

UN approved a resolution to move a limited contingent to monitor the situation and keep peace in the area.
