There is a total information black hole when it comes to the VFA-111 “Black Cats'', Erusean sources found by ISAF, then IUN, scholars show the squadron mentioned by name three times, once in a Fleet Readiness report dated October 2004, and twice from Erusean state media regarding the Aegir fleets aircraft carrier the FEN Geofon. To date, no Erusean veterans have claimed membership to the squadron, nor any wreckage found in or around Comberth Harbor bearing the markings of a VFA-111. ISAF data mostly surrounded information provided by spies within the Erusean Navy showing F/A-18 Hornets on the Geofon’s deck bearing the Squadron number, but an increasing amount of Officers and Historians have debated to the legitimacy of these sources and if such a squadron actual existed, or was a mere fabrication of the Erusean propaganda department.
