63-7482 As it would of appeared in the early 80's while serving with Michigan Air National Guard's 171st Fighter Interceptor Squadron located at Selfridge Air Force Base. (Now Selfridge Air National Guard Base). In reality, the 171st flew F-4Cs, represented by the F-4E we have in DCS.

Hey folks, this is the mission I used in my video "MiG-29 SCRAMBLE - Protect Strategic Bomber". Here the objective is to take off and try to intercept two Finnish F/A-18s that are trying to intercept a Tu-95 bomber. I'm warning you that it's not easy. I had to try several times since we'll be at a numerical and technological disadvantage. If you want to try several times, I recommend you configure it to start the mission already in the air. That way you don't waste time. So, enjoy.

This is a wholly interactive & illustrated Mission-based Playground designed to teach/refresh the flying & operation of the F4U-1D Corsair. Plates will appear onscreen throughout every stage of the mission & will advance as soon as the correct action is performed (or the Stick Trigger is pressed when indicated).
It covers Airfield Startup, Taxi & Take Off, Landing & Shutdown as well as Carrier Take Off, Landing & Shutdown, Weapon readying & the use of the YEZB radio navigation.
The Mission includes a very basic airfield attack & all aspects of the flight tuition has been loosely influenced from Reflected Simulation's helpful Youtube series on the DCS Corsair.

A Russian KA-50 III is stationed at Latakia port (Steerpoint 4) along with a command building (Steerpoint 3). Your task is to destroy the targets using two AGM65K's. There is no AWACS airborne. Watch out for enemy aircraft. You have two AIM-9X Sidewinders and two AIM-120C AMRAAMs for self-defense.Return to your homebase (Al Qusayr AB).
