It’s a misty summers afternoon on the Stennis. The visibility at low level is not good and there is a 15-knot wind from the south. You, Ford, have just dropped into the cockpit of your Hornet f18C. You are about to carry out your Weapons Deployment Practice Sortie.  

This one sortie will test your ability to deploy various weapons in various ways , the operation of the radio, the execution of JTAC protocols and the entry of coordinates for target locations both whilst on the ground and flying, You will need to navigate in poor visibility caused by low level mist using Tacan, Runway headings and ( in the case of the carrier only) ICSL. This whilst landing both at a land base ( for rearming and refuelling) and returning to the carrier. Oh, and there will be a cross wind at the air base, and you never no there could be an airborne interception !

These high-level meetings are taken place in several locations within the cities of Charak and Jenah.  Both of these cities are small and meeting locations are set among the local homes and businesses so not to draw attention.  Iranian ground forces are present; we have JTAC personnel in place to confirm that all parties are present before the strike command is given.

Intel confirmed that military build-up, sale of oil and the development of nuclear, biological, chemical delivery systems will be key items covered in these meetings.

This is VERSION 2.0 of this mission to utilize the newly released Mavericks.

The images have me dressed as Santa as the pilot. This is NOT the case in the actual .zipfile by the way! It was merely a way of me passing on Yuletide greetings. I wouldn't inflict ME on you as the pilot as it would probably end in tears!!

This is my second mission but pretty happy with how it turned out so thought i'd share it. Mission is set on Sinai, in the Viper where u are tasked with destroying a Naval convey, currently passing through the Suez Canal. They are suspected arms smugglers, but due to half the worlds seaborn logistics passing through the Canal, you cannot obstruct it, so you must remain on station over the water until authorized. Between you and Wingman you have to Destroy the targets, provide SEAD, and your own cap (wingman). Due to the loadout you only have a belly tank fitted, and so you will be required to tank at least once, but on my playthrough (Trak included), i tanked twice, as you do have to hold at times, and be pretty conservative. I did try set it up so your wingman maintains CAP automatically, but dont think it worked properly, so as lead, dont forget to give him orders (he should be on 243.0, same as tanker), and make sure he tanks with you!! An I-16 'Ishak' (Donkey) or 'Rata' (Rat) in a pre-finished state with only the flight surfaces covered with linen. The fuselage is in it's pre-linen covered state of a coat of phenol-formaldehyde resin, this giving the normally light wood an orange-brown appearance.

Republic P-47D Thunderbolt 'Schmaltzie/Mercedes' of the 65th Fighter Squadron, 57th FG based in Corsica and Italy 1944-45.
Piloted by Lt. F. J. Middleton (pictured standing on the wing root of 'Little Bunny'), the crew chief was S/Sgt. L. Walker and the armourer was Cpl. S. Bauer.

P-47D 'Frigid Midgit'. Pilot 2nd Lt. Jack Hallett 394 FS 367FG St. Dizier France March 1945
The 'natural metal' of the wing sections was due to repair after 2nd Lt. Hallett crashed inbetween two trees after attempting to 'buzz' three of his Squadron who were crossing a small swing-bridge on their way to the airfield at St. Dizzier. He was test-flying a Thunderbolt as the 367th had only just received three of them for assessment prior to being assigned them to replace their P-38 Lightnings.
As Hallett himself said of the Thunderbolt (after only 45 minutes in it), "When you pulled back the stick in a P-38 the plane would go up whereas the P-47 had a much higher wing-load... I pulled back on the stick and the attitude changed but the altitude did not!". As he passed over the guys on the bridge he managed to crash the brand-new unit inbetween two trees. Hence the bare aluminium wings, fitted as a replacement for the ones he'd irrepairably damaged!
True story.
