Generic 79thFG 86thFS is a P-47D-30-RA of the 79th Fighter Group, 86th Fighter Squadron, 12th Air Force.
It is depicted as the squadron would have appeared in the spring of 1945.

It has all but the first two letters/numbers on the fuselage disabled to give an impression of the coding system used by the 86th.

Intended for competition entry.

It is depicted as the squadron would have appeared in late 1944, early 1945, operating out of Corsica and then various airfields in Italy during the hard fought Italian campaign.
