A track file showing me having a go at my "Su-33 Morning fighter sweep" mission and also showing the F-Pole technique of BVR missile engagements.

In the F-Pole technique you accelerate to maximum possible speed at your locked target, thus giving your BVR missiles the highest possible energy and consequently greatest possible range. Once you launch your missile, close the throttle, open the air brake and even lower your flaps. This will dramatically reduce your closing speed with your target which, in theory, will take you outside your enemy's missile engagement zone. This leaves your target with an impossible missile launch AND an incoming missile.

The only disadvantage is that if your missile misses then you are at high altitude at very low speed and will be inside your enemy's missile engagement zone quite quickly. Your only option will be to trade altitude for speed. Give it a go!
