Hey there mighty DCS Brothers & Sisters. This mission is a re written & a totally reworked version of my original "Island Strike" mission I created more than two years ago. This can be flown with any AC that can accommodate the loadout within the mission. I would difficulty rate this a 7/10 & can be completed in under 45 mins. This is an easy Sortie & I think is a great little mission for Newbys.
08:00 Abu Musa Island, Persian Gulf
This Island is now under Allied control & the Russian backed Iranian forces in the area are not happy about it. Although we haven't managed to kick them out of the Tunb Kochak Islands yet but we're working on it. Now an opportunity has presented itself for us to start that ball rolling & your just the Pilot that can make that happen.
Firstly, make sure your Throttle setting is Idle or Off as you'll be departing Hot. Chevy 1-1, your mission is to WP navigate to Tunb Kochak Island ( WP-4 ) & take out all designated Targets. As you approach the AO you'll be Angels 12 & already set up for a CCIP delivery & also arm your Maverick AGM-65F & start it's Timer. You have no Targeting Pod so you'll use the Maverick Seeker in conjunction with your WPDSG to locate, slew & subsequently destroy the four mobile armour units that are patrolling the island. Now, directly at your WP-4 which is set to Min Alt, you will find the three stationary Targets in close proximity to each other which will be easily taken out with your single Mk-84 2000 pnd GP Iron delivered by.. as I mentioned a CCIP delivery. Once all your ground Targets are splashed, a MiG-29A will be in hot from Tunb Island AFB which lies about 8 NM to the East. The MiG will have a lock on you & he'll be pissed so nail him quick. After you dispatch the MiG, RTB Abu Musa & Taxi to your parking spot to complete your mission. Oh & watch out for a trigger happy Ka-50 orbiting the AO too & AWACS Overlord is on Station for support & all this briefing is included within your Kneeboard.
