"Strike Fighter Squadron 20 (VFA-20), named Herrscher, is a strike fighter squadron of the Osean Federation’s Osean Maritime Defense Force (OMDF) that is assigned to Carrier Air Wing 24 (CVW-24) and stationed in MAS Capital Approach. The history of VFA-20 in one of the longest in Osean naval aviation history, tracing its heritage to the establishment of the 2nd Aero Detachment, attached to the 3rd Osean Fleet. Its current name, Herrscher, is named after the legendary reigning warriors in medieval myths of the former Belkan Empire that has powers approaching those of powerful deities. Previously, the squadron was named the Monarchs, but waves of intense anti-monarchy and republican sentiments due to the Belkan invasion and the Republic of Belka’s purported goal of reestablishing its empire of old forced the squadron to change its name in 1995. Their tail code, like all fixed-wing aircraft assigned to CVW-24, is KF, and their modex numbers are 1xx, as the turmae primus of CVW-24."
