VMFA-134 Smoke

VMFA-134 is a United States Marine Corps fighter attack squadron that operated the F/A-18 Hornet. The squadron was activated on March 1, 1943, as Marine Fighting Squadron 134 (VMF-134), flying the F4U Corsair during World War II.

After the war, VMF-134 was deactivated and reactivated several times, flying various aircraft including the F8F Bearcat, F9F Panther, FJ Fury, and A-4 Skyhawk. In 1989, the squadron transitioned to the F/A-18 Hornet, which it still operates today.

Over the years, VMFA-134 has participated in various military campaigns, including the Korean War, Vietnam War, and Gulf War. In 2003, the squadron was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

VMFA-134 has received numerous awards and honors for its service, including the Presidential Unit Citation, the Navy Unit Commendation, and the Marine Corps Aviation Association's Squadron of the Year award. The squadron was last based at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in California.
