Your Commander wants you to improve your formation flying and perfect your landing approaches.
This mission has several formation flying patterns where you will try to follow the group in front of you and key landing approaches to practice.
There are standard voice commands to tell you when to turn and how much. Try and join the given formations at a reasonable distance (2-10 rotor discs).
There are no points or penalties this mission is intended to keep practicing these various patterns over and over until they are perfect.

I have set up several planes across the perimeter which you can try and find using your radar.
Their Electronic Counter Measures are turned on and you will see that jiggly radar picture that we expect.
Some of the planes are more invisible than others. Try and work out which ones you can actually locate easily, which ones you can lock and which ones are quite difficult to find. One of them is quite difficult to find.

This is a mission to test if the socalled In-Ground-Effect (IGE) is actually noticeable.

At altitudes of less then one rotor length the In-Ground-Effect (IGE) should provide some extra lift.
You can try and feel if this is the case by reducing the collective to account for the IGE.
This is barely noticeable at least to myself. Maybe this is not even modelled correctly in DCS?
Any experienced helicopter pilots can maybe comment on this.
In theory with the coaxial rotors of the KA50 this IGE should be more pronounced than with other helicopters.
Unfortunately there are no charts available for the KA50.

It is the 12th of September 2023. Ukraine wants to recapture the "Boyko Towers" in the Black Sea that were occupied by the Russian Federation. The Russian Federation has placed radar sensors on the towers to detect any enemy movements from far away, covering a wide stretch of ocean. Your task is to land on the oil rig at sunrise.

BLUE FORCE since it's Ukrainian. Feel free to change the helicopter to another blue force chopper.

It is the Monday 14. August 2023. Russia has terminated the grain agreement by the UN and actively patrolling ships in the Black Sea. The Russian Frigate "Moskva" has forced the Korean Ship "Korean Rose" to stop and wants to land onboard the vessel with a helicopter. YOU are that pilot flying a KA50-Black Shark 3 and want to land on the helipad of the Korean Vessel "Korean Rose". You are already approaching it at a 90 Degree angle and have to slowly manoeuvre close to the helipad to land.

I have created a training mission to practice a teardrop landing approach as documented in the Flight Manual for the BS3 (which you can download here at DCS).  In this mission you aim to fly through the gates at 90° to the wind (122°) blowing from the direction of Dubai International Airport.  You have the wind on your right. As you approach you try to maintain that 90° direction (Heading 32°) to fly over the helipad. Once there you turn left at a 60° angle so end up heading at an angle of 30° off the downwind direction (332°). You follow this for around 2km and then start turning in towards your final approach direction of 122°. Lower your gear and start lowering your speed but dont exceed a VSI of 2-5. Try to land gently on or near the helipad.

Have fun practicing and post a comment if you want me to create more such lessons. I will probably do one landing on a helipad on top of a building next.

This little mission is a practice mission to fly into and land on Kolkhi using instruments, ILS and TACAN with ATC approval.
You will start NW of Kolkhi heading to Zeni which is one of the  Entry/Exits of Kolkhi airport.
Open the kneeboard (Shift-K) and page down to the map to see the 4 possible entry/exit routes out of Kolkhi.
Once past Zeni ATC will Radio that they have a visual and you can request landing.
By that time you will need to have reduced speed and using your HSI be on approach to the runway.
