Multiple VF-18 Squadron’s have existed in the history of the OMDF, however the Navy does not recognize a shared lineage between them.

VF-18 Pirates were established in 1967 flying the F-4J with Carrier Air Wing 12 aboard the OFS Hubert. Serving at the tail end of the Clavis Conflict, the Pirates and their sister squadron, the VF-85 "Red Arrows", would not see action until the Adama Island Rebellion, where Phantoms from the Hubert would fly in support of Quarantine measures against the Island.

In 1985, the Squadron would transition to the F-14B Tomcat. While serving on the Hubert, the Pirates would deploy to Usea and Southern Verusa, conducting Freedom of Navigation exercises against unfriendly powers in both regions.

VF-85 "Red Arrows" was established in 1967, flying the F-4J. Assigned to Carrier Air Wing 12 aboard the OFS Hubert, the squadron would serve with their sister unit, VF-18 "Pirates" during the final weeks of the Clavis Conflict, though the Huberts Air Wing would not see any action at this time.

It would not be until the Adama Island Rebellion where Red Arrows Phantoms were critical in the landing operations,  warning off repeated rebel air attacks on the Pro-Government forces landing on the island.

In 1985, the Red Arrows along with the Pirates were slated to transition into the F-14B, however midway through the training the Osean Maritime Defense Force deactivated the unit, with aircrews and aircraft assigned to pre-existing F-14 Squadrons.

In late March 1986, VF-33 was aboard USS America (CV-66) when she crossed Gaddafi's "Line of Death" into the Gulf of Sidra. Libyan SA-5 surface-to-air missiles were unsuccessfully fired at Tomcats from the Starfighters' sister squadron (VF-102) beginning a battle designated as Operation Prairie Fire by the US military. A pair of VF-33's F-14s engaged in a dogfight with Libyan MiG-25 "Foxbats" and outmaneuvered them, and while they had met rules of engagement and acquired Sidewinder tone, they failed to receive authorization to fire in time and the MiGs slipped away. By the end of the battle, Libya had lost a corvette, a fast attack craft, and multiple SAM sites along with a second corvette and missile boat being heavily damaged. No damage or casualties were reported by the US Navy. This F-14, a Block 75 designated TARBOX 210, was flown during the engagement

On September 11, 1972 VMFA-333, the Fighting Shamrocks aboard USS America launched a MigCAP which was to patrol over the Haiphong area.   A/C 201 and A/C 206 engaged Mig-21’s and shot down one confirmed and claimed one probable.  While egressing the area short of fuel, both Phantoms were damaged by AAA and SAM fire.   They were able to reach the coast before the crews ejected and were recovered by SAR.

This was the only confirmed All-Marine MiG kill during the Vietnam War.

VF-33 was originally known as the Tarsiers, then the Astronauts for a short time, then Tarsiers again, and the squadron ended its life as the Starfighters. They flew a diverse range of aircraft, from the F4U Corsair to the F-14A Tomcat. The squadron was disestablished in 1993
Prior to the F-14 and during the Vietnam War, their aircraft was the F-4 Phantom, and their 1972 scheme is probably my favorite ever applied to the F-4.

VF-33 1991 post Desert Storm:
AB200 - The CAG bird; this livery was made upon the arrival of the new CO just after Desert Storm. This livery was kept all the way up until retirement in 1993.
AB203 - 'Christine'. This aircraft was the first F-14 to pass 5,000 flight hours. In 1991 it went to TOPGUN, and experienced an inflight emergency due to the ECS. It spent the whole weekend being fixed up, with the maintainers painting the name 'Christine' on the nose. It turned out to be a morale booster and it was retained for a few weeks.
AB207 - I painted this with a lot more weathering on it, to represent an old and tired jet.
AB211 - This aircraft had the longest relationship with USS America.

Includes custom roughmets, unique TF30s, and my velocity vector mod in cockpit.

The four  liveries are larger than the 300MB lim it, and you'll need to download from my google drive here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1D9xMWneELt7Lo1RiAb0zryM1imVyda6X?usp=sharing
