This mission is primarily an SU-25 ground attack sortie with the choice to fly as the L-39 Albatros 'bad guys' for the Red team. It is playable on either the red or blue sides in single player and/or multiplayer modes. The main mission brief is aimed at the Blue team but there is a full Red brief.

Single player: Radio options will allow you to fly for Red or Blue and you generate AI aircraft to help or hinder you. As the L-39 you can generate the entire enemy AI strike package then go and hunt them down.

Red Force Mission: Up to 2 human pilots can fly L-39Zs to try and protect the commander and stop the SU-25T attack.

Blue Force Mission: Knock out the enemy SAM site so you can destroy an enemy garrison and hopefully eliminate its commanding officer. This can be flown by up to 12 human players.

Duration: around 30-45mins

This mission is primarily an SU-25 ground attack sortie. It is playable on either the red or blue sides in single player and/or multiplayer modes. The main mission brief is aimed at the Blue team but there is a full Red brief.

Blue Force: The mission was written for a group of up to eight SU-25Ts, two SU-25As and a two Mig-29S but you can complete the mission in a single SU-25! Your objective is to destroy and enemy garrison and hopefully eliminate its commanding officer.

Red Force: This bonus extra allows up to 2 human pilots to fly L-39Zs to try and protect the commander and stop the SU-25T attack. I added this option as I was learning to the fly the L39 at the time of writing and wanted a mission to fly it!

It is November 2015 and you are COUGAR 1, an L-37ZA pilot, who is part of a very small air detachment based at Deir ez-Zor.

Whilst your primary role is training new pilots, the past few weeks has seen increasing rebel activity in the area.

You have just received a phone call from the base commander ordering you to scramble to provide some air cover at a nearby milk processing complex. The factory is owned by a cousin of the base commander, so you best get there as soon as possible!

The guards at the factory have spotted some vehicles and men gathering at a small farm about 500m from their position. It seems highly likely that they are insurgents preparing for a raid on the factory.

28 May 1982. Operation Sutton - the ground offensive to retake the Falkland Islands has been running for 15 hours. You are part of VIXEN, a flight of up to 4 Sea Harriers stationed onboard HMS Hermes. You have been at 5 minutes readiness to scramble the whole day, but the terrible weather conditions have made flying impossible - much to yours and the ground troops frustration. An urgent call has come in from the 2nd Parachute Regiment (2 PARA). They are attacking Goose Green and have come under intense artillery fire. In addition, the Argentine defenders are using their 20mm and 35mm air defence guns as heavy machine guns. The Paras are pinned down and need air support now! Fortunately, the weather has just changed, and, in a risky move, HMS Hermes has been brought to within 70nm of East Falklands to reduce your flight time.

Su-27 Snake Island Raid

As part of the Russian-Ukraine conflict, Russian forces continue to build up their military presence on the tiny, but strategically important, Snake Island (Zmiinyi Island).
They have recently managed to land some mobile air defence vehicles and the area is currently covered by an SA-15, two SA-13 launchers plus several ZSU-23 AAA guns. Left unchecked the Russians will be able to land more long-range SAM and anti-shipping missiles giving them dominance in the Black Sea.

To counter this threat the Ukrainian Air Force is planning a high risk, ultra-low-level bombing strike on the island.

Captain, this afternoon’s sortie is a short mission into contested territory.

Rebel forces have occupied a train station and are using it to store a cache of weapons. Your primary task is to destroy the two buildings that make up the train station.

In addition, we have received intel images from an Orlan-10 drone that show a rebel supply convoy halted a few miles north of the train station. It appears that the lead vehicle has run into a mine. Catch the convoy before their engineers have time to find a safe path and move on.

We have an emergency situation!

Approximately 30 minutes ago three enemy troop transport ships docked at the eastern side of the island and begun unloading their cargo of troops and armour.

Your mission is to proceed to the landing area and destroy or disable the ground forces you will encounter there. More transport ships have been spotted approaching the island and we will update you on their position.

--- This is a single player mission for the AH-64D.
--- The landing zone is rich in targets but will require skill and planning if you are to destroy everything with the limited weapons you have at your disposal (but there is scope to rearm one time during the mission).
--- The mission features a voice-over briefing, mission updates and includes custom kneeboards.

FW190D9 sortie against a high altitude B17G bombing raid.

It has been a busy day in the skies with many American bomber raids leaving contrails over the Fatherland today. More bombers are expected in the next few hours. We cannot hope to stop them all but for each one we shoot down we save the lives of hundreds of our citizens and factory workers.

We believe another bomber raid is about to launch from Britain and will fly through the clearer weather in the region of Le Havre.

You and your flight of four FW190 D-9 Doras are on standby to scramble against this threat.
