A hover trainer - for all player-controllable helicopters and the Harrier. CAUTION: Mind your hairline, It'll recede!

To be able to hover in a helicopter is like being able to parallel park a car. Difficult, unimpressive, and a prerequisite for flying any helicopter.

Well, here's a small mission that helps you hone that skill with any of DCS's currently available flyable Helicopters (and the Harrier).

The mission also throws in some element of scoring to keep you on your toes. Or rather, to keep you keep your toes on your rudder. Oh, and Instructor/Trainer MP setup is tentatively supported (requires more testing) for the MP helos

"Lawnmower" is a mission where you train, improve, and test your helicopter landing skills. Request a landing by difficulty (easy, normal, or hard), and the mission generates an LZ based on your request. LZs are generated dynamically, from tens of thousands of possibilities, virtually guaranteeing that no two missions are identical (unless you are unusually patient). Landings are rated individually, and after five or more consecutive landings, your overall skill is rated as well. Harshly. So better step up your game, soldier!

The FAC Playground provides a quick mission for fans of the free OV-10A Bronco mod by Split Air.

The player can fly around, identify targets and request an air strike from one of five availabe striker groups, to engage the target.
He can select the type of ordnance that he wants dropped on the target and the amount of ordnance. As an option he can also select a specific attack heading.
After firing his marker rocket, the selected AI bombers will drop the selected ordnance onto the smoke marker.

The mission is based on my FAC Script, which will be released for download separately.

Both the Split Air OV-10A Bronco mod and the community A-4E Skyhawk mod are needed to run this mission.

IW:P is a single/multi-player dynamic mission where you must fly multiple plane types in support of an AI-controlled ground attack that tries to capture a string of strategic locations. Ground forces deploy and spawn dynamically, based on rules that are influenced by the current tactical situation. A successful 2-player mission usually requires that at least one (usually more) of the players fly two or more different airframes (rotor- and/or fixed-wing) before the mission is a success.
