F-5E ''Tiger'' from Vietnam AF 1967 & 1975
F-5E ''Tiger'' from Vietnam AF 1967 & 1975
In June 1967, the United States transferred several F-5Es to South Vietnam. When PAVN forces occupied South Vietnam on April 30, 1975, the communists captured approximately 877 aircraft. Of this number, 87 were reported as F-5As and 27 as F-5Es. In November 1975, the Vietnamese government gave the Soviet Army the option of selecting captured American equipment for research and intelligence purposes. The complete F-5, along with two complete spare engines, spare parts and ground support equipment, was loaded onto a Soviet cargo ship. [127] Several other F-5s were later transported via Vietnam to the USSR, Poland and Czechoslovakia. Regards, Robsonek ;)
