While the Amberian Armed Forces largely fell into a considerable guerrilla force after a week thanks to the foresight of the military leadership, some forces had their own overt roles to play in Operation Marid. Along with a handful of other units, as well as the surviving civil government, the 190th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, otherwise known as the Jinn, would be the public face of a seemingly defeated country.
While not as glorious as the actions their fellow countrymen were participating in on the homefront, the Jinn were critical in selling the idea to the Erusean leadership about the total capitulation of the Republic of Amber, whose remaining military consisted of early cold-war relics.
Historians credit this ruse with aiding in the success of Operation Marid, where Erusean leadership often cited the very public sightings of the 190th as evidence against a persistent resistance threat in country. This false sense of security cost hundreds of lives as units such as the 357th whittled down the Erusean Garrison until liberation day in mid 2005.
During the ensuing celebrations days later, the 190th FIS Escorted the Prime Minister and his staff back to the capital, finally reintegrating with the larger Amberian military.
