Short mission set on the Syria map in the fictional country of Hamirah. Insurgent forces have taken control over The small town of Masyaf, west of Hama.

Background:
Tensions have been high in southern Hamirah for the past years. A ethnic minority in the city of Hama and surrounding areas have been demanding a referendum be held for the city to become part of Sayan. The central Hamirahn government in Aleppo strongly opposed this idea. However local pro Sayan politicians in Hama have been gaining popularity and are expected to have a chance to win the upcoming election on June 9th.
June 6th 2001:
Three days until the election in Hamirah. The ruling conservative government appears to be winning in the election polls. They are firm in their stance on the question of Hama. Hama is part of the Republic of Hamirah and will never be part of Sayan.
June 8th 2001:
Last day before the election. Poll favorite and pro-Sayan politician Nayef Saeed promises the people of Hama that he will make Hama part of Sayan in the coming years.
June 9th 2001: TODAY
Election day. As the people of the town of Masyaf 30 km west of Hama wake up they are met with armed men and armored vehicles patrolling the streets. The armed men are from a A pro-Sayan group called Hama Liberation Front. A group Nayef Saeed has been accused of supporting, but which he denies. The president together with the election bureau of Hamirah announces that the election will be postponed for two weeks until the situation in Hama can be resolved.
