A mission to sharpen your TACAN air navigation abilities with random-generated TACAN approaches. This mission assumes that you know the principles of TACAN nav, and gives you ample opportunities to perfect them: approach a TACAN on the designated radial and keep within 1 degree to pass.

This single/multiplayer mission supports all TACAN-capable modules

OVERVIEW
TACAN air navigation is a fun and - on carrier and airfield approaches - crucial ability for pilots. This mission allows players to hone their TACAN approach skills with randomly-spawned TACAN units.

There's a hot, cold, and airborne slot for each module.

HOW TO PLAY
It's a great day to train your TACAN prowess. Enter your favorite airframe, and when you are ready, request a new TACAN exercise via Communications-->Other

You will receive a randomized TACAN designation and code (e.g "MVR 23X", and a CRS (e.g. "230°"). Your goal is simple: approach and fly over the TACAN at exactly the CRS heading that was assigned for the exercise. Do not approach the TACAN closer than 2km on a different heading, or you will fail the exercise.

The mission provides subtle aural feedback when you are on the correct radial and heading to make this more comfortable.

Once you approach the TACAN within 2km, your course and radial are checked against the target heading. If you are off by more than one degree for either radial or course, you fail the exercise.

If you find yourself too far from the next TACAN for your comfort, you can request a new exercise at any time.

Exercises are assigned to individual players/aircraft (multi-crew aircraft receive one exercise at the time) and will remain with them through different aircraft. Should you change slots with an active exercise, you can contine the exercise with the new aircraft.

This mission fully supports multiplayer.

EYE CANDY CONTROL
This mission uses stopGap to fill empty player slots with beautiful uncontrolled representations of the aircraft that a player can choose. If this overwhelms your GPU, you can turn off this feature by choosing EYE CANDY from the Communications-->Other menu.
