Historically accurate metallic livery for the P-47D as used in June 1944 during the Normandy campaign. One generic metallic livery as used by several fighter groups and one livery with red squadron markings as used by 395th Fighter Squadron 368th Fighter Group. Invasion stripes and markings with paint-like textures. Changeable bort numbers.
During the Normandy campaign, P-47 squadrons had two most common paint schemes. On one side full olive drab with white markings, on the other hand bare metallic with black markings. This metallic livery completes my previous P-47 livery pack to make a full set of historical June 1955 liveries for the P-47.
The generic variant without squadron colours was used in that form by aircraft from most fighter groups involved in the Normandy battle, including 368th, 48th, 404th, 365th, 405th, 50th, 362nd, 373rd and 406th Fighter Groups. The variant with red squadron markings on the canopy bow and trim tab was used for example by 395th Fighter Squadron.
