These are missions inspired by Tom Clancy’s Red Storm Rising with audio from the book as part of the missions. These are unpolished and made by a novice but should be functional and enjoyable for any Tom Clancy fan! These were created with DCS 2.8 Openbeta. Mission Briefing:
We need to know what is being landed in Iceland and you are doing the recon. A P3 reported a ship heading for port after the base was struck. We need to know what kind of equipment and troops are being landed prior to deciding next steps. Get a good look at the ship and equipment on the dock area with your targeting pod. We think the dock they will use is set for WP 4. You can slave your targeting pod to WP 4 and slew from there.
Chevy 1-1 is lead and you will follow as Chevy 1-2. Form up and follow the flight planned route starting at 20,000. After waypoint 1, head down below the clouds to 5,000 by waypoint 2. You will split up at WP 3 the IP. After getting your recon recording on your targeting pod, join up at WP 7 and RTB to Anapa at 20,000.
Emission Control is in effect until leaving the area. Keep radars off until after your recon passes or you may alert any air defences.
Bullseye is WP 3 your IP
There is no tanker support available but you should have lots of fuel. Don’t forget to manage your fuel tanks and jettison them once empty.
Make sure your EWR is on and radar is off.
You are carrying 4 sidewinders so you can take out aircraft that may report your position. Sneak up behind any enemies and use the sidewinders without radar so they have no warning. You have 1 Sparrow for insurance but only use as a last resort.
