These are missions inspired by Tom Clancy’s Red Storm Rising with audio from the book as part of the missions. These are unpolished and made by a novice but should be functional and enjoyable for any Tom Clancy fan! These were created with DCS 2.8 Openbeta. Mission Briefing:
Warsaw forces are staged along the West German border and a Soviet ground attack is imminent. Spetsnaz special forces have already attempted several attacks within our NATO borders attacking Command and Control facilities. We must take the initiative and blunt their forces to buy time for the United States to send reinforcements across the Atlantic Ocean….
Your primary mission is to destroy their Mainstay AWACs aircraft currently circling near the border. Secondary mission is to lase 2 bridges so our F-111’s can destroy them. Look for targets of opportunity such as bridging equipment after the bridges are destroyed. You must get your new stealth aircraft home safe.
Callsign: Shade 4:
Your mission waypoints are pre loaded. Setup for fuel tank jettison and other cockpit setups prior to Taxi. Ensure you get the ground crew to change out your helmet tracker to NVG. You will be busy trying to stay low once enroute and don’t want to have your head in the cockpit.
Wait for Stealth A/C group to taxi and take off after them at your discretion
Climb to 1,000 AGL until aircraft is configured
Get down to below 500 AGL by waypoint 2
Keep power below 97% thrust with few exceptions or you are going to run into fuel issues. Select Center External tanks to start with and jettision them before switching to wing tanks.
Expect to climb as required to engage Mainstay 10 miles before WP 6 and activate your radar.
Turn to WP 7 for Secondary Target and lase. Stay between 1,000 and 1,500 AGL.
Call in F-111 Ardvarks once Target lased using F10 Menu
Once bridges destroyed, locate bridging equipment/trucks. Drop flares over the trucks along the road below 500 AGL to highlight them for the Ardvarks.
RTB altitude your discretion. The lower you stay during RTB to less likely you will be intercepted. Engage interceptors if required to get home however do not put your aircraft at risk if you can avoid it. Request CAP on the F10 menu if interceptors become a concern on your egress
Mission Ends with full stop landing at Anapa
