Which is the best SEAD aircraft in DCS when it comes to really challenging air defences?
Most missions seem to be set with standard SAM templates and offer no real challenge other than firing a HARM form 40 miles at 30k ft. That's not what SEAD is really like. SAM operators dont sit waiting for a HARM to come and kill them. This mission is randomised and tough! You will need to select and aircraft and weapons load to take out multiple SAM sites and they won't sit around waiting for you. A long range HARM isn't always gonna work. None of the random options are designed to make life hard for a specific aircraft or easy for others....they're just hard. You will need to find the targets and need to understand how they work and what their capabilities are to keep you safe and make them dead. Additionally being SEAD misison you need to clear the way for a strike by F-15s prior to their arrival.
So if you think that you are up to it and your aircraft is the best at SEAD then give it a try.
Notes
The mission defaults to the viper and is unarmed. You will need to arm it.
If you want to change aircraft amend the Viper to whatever..do NOT create a new aircraft. The scripts rely on that object
You need a weapons load which will cover all eventualities. There will often be more than one threat - often several.
