Dodge One AH64 v3.3 is a night, close air support mission for a single or multiple AH64D helicopters in the Syrian theatre, featuring random tasking and timing. You can fly as a single player with “George” or multiplayer. Multiplayer as pilot and CPG is recommended! Your rotation starts at 01:45 at Kharab Ishk. It’s a mucky night with heavy showers forecast.

*** Version 3.3 features more tasks, re-located FARP London, inclusion of new technicals, tuned threat locations and many more refinements ***

Before departure, you will need to specify your loadout to the ground crew. A spread of munition types is recommended but the choice is yours. You won’t have to deal with airborne threats but there are randomised ground threats, generally in and around communities – so choose your routing with care!

There are two active FARPs available in theatre – London to the Southeast of the Manbij Dam and Dallas to the Northwest of Raqqa. Both have repair, refuel and rearming capability. You can proceed to either, or home plate at any time to rearm and/or refuel. You can request a signal flare to aid location when approaching these FARPS.

Communication is via the F10 option in the communication menu. Check in with CAC Darkstar before departure and request tasking. Proceed or anchor as directed and await further tasking. Random tasking detail will be relayed to you at any time as they become available (but will always be within 12 minutes of a task request). In most instances, you will be given a nine line (have a pen and paper available!!) or directed to FAC/JTAC for further talk on. Your target location will be passed in MGRS format (4 digit). JTAC will give you 3 digit grids so remember, you must convert these by adding a zero to each 3 digit group so 37 S DA 342 625 needs to be entered as 37SDA34206250

You can request tasking at time, whether you have completed the previous tasking or otherwise.

You may be passed for further talk on to FAC/JTAC units and will need to check in and out from those units as required.

Generic radio chatter is available on 332.000 and is thoroughly recommended to add ambience.

The mission card is available on the kneeboard with all the assets, frequencies and waypoint details you need.

There are a set of alpha points (waypoints). There is no way for me to prevent these appearing as a default sequence. The “route” shown between these waypoints is of no use to you.

You can repeat tasking requests until you check out (from the comms F10 menu). Your time on duty will continue until then – for as many hours as you can stay awake. Be economical and efficient with your resources. Check out with CAC when you’re done!

Skill level: always a difficult one to assess but you will need to be proficient in:
Navigation including Grid coordinates and waypoint creation
Radio management
