An approximation of the camouflage seen on the early AV-8A Harriers, with the hi-viz roundels and white bort numbers. This one represents a VMA-542 "Tigers" bird.
When the USMC adopted the British Harrier as the AV-8A, the original paint scheme was kept. This was a grey base colour, green pattern and a very light grey underside. Together with this was the high visibility marks of the 1970s. In addition to these hi-viz marks, the plane has the mark of a VMA-542 birds, the yellow and black striped rudder.
