Following the conflict with separatists, enemy forces supported by its foreign allies started pushing deeper into Georgia. This push was stopped after a few days of heavy fighting.
However, Georgia´s military intelligence intercepted a message about the air shipment of advanced anti-air and anti-tank missiles from foreign supplier which could easily shift the combat situation in favor of the attacker.
The US Air Force planes stationed at Vaziani airbase were tasked with carrying out this attack. This strike was intended to be carried out with JDAMS - however, the guidance kits for Mk 84 bombs were faulty, so you have to perform this task with unguided bombs. Be careful, allied armies have already lost two planes and a helicopter to MANPADS, so dont be mean with flares.
