You're about to be launched in a F-15E to go intercept Shahed drones - make sure you get Currenthill's Iran pack - in an air-to-air weapons test. Depending on demand, might expand this test to other DCS airframes.

Please read the description below or the enclosed readme BEFORE flying. Thanks.

First, thanks for reading the “README”. Want to ensure that you are not disappointed in this weapons test mission.
Second, you will need Currenthill.com’s Iran pack with Shahed trucks before playing. Just slide into \Users\[USER NAME]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech.
Third, this mission is dedicated to all the USAF F-15E heroes who splashed Iranian drones on April 13, 2024. You can watch a US Air Force documentary of their exploits in “Dangerous Game” on YouTube. One can also read Silver Star winner Lacie “Sonic” Heister’s side of events in "Beyond Belief: True Stories of Women Heroes That Defy Comprehension".
With that, you’ll have to navigate the Nevada Test & Training Range (NTTR) airspace. That means staying out of Area 51 and also not straying into the engagement zone of the C-RAM goalie gun. You will receive notifications if you do either. But you’ll be sent up against five Shahed drones launched when you’re close enough. The drones will fly at around 8K Above Sea Level (ASL) but to keep you safe from the mountains you’ll fly in and out at 20K ASL at 500 knots groundspeed.
Now your job is to fly out and intercept these Shaheds. There are some targets set up for the Shaheds to ram into if you fail. Clearly you aren’t expected to fight off 180 drones at night. This is more intended to test & train tracking & engaging these little jerks.
When done, you have a GBU-12 laser-guided bomb to take out the launcher if you choose to do so.  On April 13, 2024, this wasn’t an option. Nor was there an F10 map the author of this mission recommends using to help with the intercept because DCS won’t currently talk you onto missiles. Nor will DCS score killing missiles currently. Hope this changes after 1 Dec. 2025. In the interim… AIM HIGH!
