June 1943: The Royal Air Force, facing a shortage of air power, acquired the F4U-1 ahead of the Royal Navy's planned introduction and deployed it on the North African front in 1943.
This is the Royal Air Force variant of the F4U-1D MkIV. It is a fictional skin depicting what might have occurred had it been adopted by the RAF and deployed to the North African theatre. The historical accuracy is slightly off, but please enjoy it nonetheless.
