Welcome to Rotor Forge: Rotary Wing Training for the AH-64D, UH-1H, OH-58D, CH-47F, SA342, Ka-50, Mi-24P and Mi-8MVP2. Located at Anapa-Vityazevo Airport, Rotor Forge will provide the opportunity to learn basic flight operations, cargo pickup and delivery, troop transport, combat search and rescue (CSAR), deck landing qualifications, confined area landings, navigation, communications, NOE urban flight course, and weapons training against static, moving, concealed, urban, and air-to-air targets for a wide variety of rotary wing aircraft.

**SITUATION**
Welcome to Rotor Forge: Rotary Wing Training for the AH-64D, UH-1H, OH-58D, CH-47F, SA342, Ka-50, Mi-24P and Mi-8MVP2. Located at Anapa-Vityazevo Airport (Img 2), Rotor Forge will provide the opportunity to learn basic flight operations, cargo pickup and delivery, troop transport, combat search and rescue (CSAR), deck landing qualifications, confined area landings, navigation, communications, NOE urban flight course, and weapons training against static, moving, concealed, urban, and air-to-air targets for a wide variety of rotary wing aircraft. Urban Flight Course ~14 nm
Start the course at the Double Air Show Balloons (Use COMMS F10 to activate smoke) and follow the designated road. (Img 10)
 - Start Coordinates: Lat Long Standard: N 45°00'18" E 37°17'45"; MGRS GRID: 37 T CK 65713 84943; Altitude: 16 m / 51 feet
Single Air Show Balloons are placed on the of the road to indicate the direction of the next turn.
 - If the Air Show Balloon is on the left side of the road, the next turn will be left.
 - If the Air Show Balloon is on the right side of the road, the next turn will be right.
Five Air Show Balloons mark the outer "wall" of the turn.
Double Balloons indicate the path between buildings when the course goes off the road.
Course End is designated by Double Air Show Balloons at the bridge.


**Whiskey Charlie**

**Weapons Test Range**
Located at the 1 nm south-east of Anapa-Vityazevo Airport, the Weapons Test Range can be utilized to engage indestructible targets to verify weapon and targeting systems.
Four targets are provided for testing at set ranges:

Training areas to practice hovering near Air Show Balloons. (Img 4)

  * Three balloon semi-circles which provide reference points while maintaining a stationary hover.
- Moving to Stationary Hover Area
  * Two static walls to provide practice moving quickly towards the balloon walls then transitioning to a stationary hover .

**Cargo Operations**
Two utility areas within Anapa-Vityazevo Airport are inventoried with light and heavy cargo for hauling operations.
 - Use COMMS F10 to request smoke at the cargo pick and delivery locations.
Cargo Pickup Light (Blue Smoke) (Img 6)
 - Max weight of 3,000lbs for M117 bombs, ammo, barrels, containers, f-shaped barriers, and UH-1H cargos.

**Troop Embarking Operations**

**Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) Operations**
Four pilots have activated their Combat Survival Radios and are transmitting on the following frequencies.

 - CSAR3 Frequency: 52.5 FM
 - CSAR4 Frequency: 55.0 FM
Locate and extract the downed pilots back to Anapa-Vityazevo Airport's recovery zone. (Img 5)

**Bus Escort**
Three buses departing Anapa-Vityazevo Airport are transporting personnel to the November, Echo, and Sierra FARPs and require escort.
 - Use COMMS F10 to activate each bus
 - Follow each closely via low speed flight while maintaining visual on each bus to practice escort operations.

**GAMEPLAY**
Use the COMMS F10 menu to initialize various training tasks and target arrays.
'Viktor' Helicopters are immortal/indestructible and intended for novice first flight operations.
'Whiskey' Helicopters are to be utilized to practice cold starts.
Dynamic Spawns available in multiplayer for all FARPs, USS Tarawa and Anapa-Vityazevo Airport.


**DESIGN NOTES**
This is a large sand-box style mission designed for single or multiplayer player to focus on basic training for all available helicopters in DCS. COMMS F10 menu activation utilized to reduce performance impact of large target arrays.
