NZ5485 is an F4U-1D that shipped from the USA on 04 October 1944 aboard the USS Smokey Hill for Espiritu Santo to serve with the RNZAF.
On reaching Espiritu Santo on the 30th October 1944, she was assembled, coded 485, and named Kohimarama IX.
She subsequently saw service No.16 SQN and No.14 SQN before returning to New Zealand in October 1945 to be retired at Rukuhia.
This livery is a functional placeholder until the official template comes out, and will subsequently be updated in the future.
