You are part of the 493rd Fighter Wing, deployed to Norway in support of the NATO commitment.
You are involved in the battle for Norway against a massive threat from the Kola based forces of the USSR as they make a push to Iceland.
Norway has taken brutal losses in the Air, Land, and Sea and is barely holding off the Soviets in the Bardufoss area, South West of what has been dubbed "The Blue Line" at 21E Longitude.
Iceland fell to the Soviet 76th Guards Airborne three days ago, at around the same time there was an attempt to land an Amphibious Group at Bodø combined with an Air Assault on the Bardufoss area. The attack failed, with NATO forces holding on and forcing the Soviet attack to withdraw.
The Soviets are building up an IADS and troop numbers on Iceland with massive air convoys flying out of the Murmansk area.

The Soviet Air Force is ferrying mass amounts of troops and supplies to Iceland via an Air Lane North of the Norwegian Coast. You will interdict the Soviet Supply Line and cause havoc amongst the transports while the rest of the 493rd keeps you covered from Soviet CAP.
