## Testing Completed ## A part-real, part-fictional re-enactment of Day 1 of Operation Eastern Resolve 2, a joint US Marine Corps and Afghan National Army effort to increase influence and presence in the district of Now Zad. This mission follows the assault on the town of Dohaneh in the south of the district. The operation was one of the first, and one of the most kinetic, following the USMC s"surge" in Helmand Province earlier that year.
At 0900hrs 12 Aug 09, a small USMC force secured a foothold in the north of the town and began constructing a temporary patrol base, from which it was hoped that they (and the ANA) could perform regular patrols. Almost immediately, they came under heavy attack from Taliban militas in the area - to include indirect fire directed from the mountainous regions around the town.
A Quick Reaction force from Now Zad is on its way. Your AH64/CH47 package will insert ANA troops in to the mountains. Meanwhile your fixed-wing package will provide CAS.
